NPC targeting
« on: August 01, 2008, 09:12:44 pm »
In-game, it says i have to either left-click or right-click to target an NPC, yet it doesn't work. i have to use the /target command in order to actually target something

i would have to guess you are on a mac http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=31746.0 if not tell us more about your system as no one else has complained of this issue.

Actually, i'm using Windows XP Home (32-bit) with I believe SP3. I'm using a Logitech cordless mouse that works fine for every other game, but won't target an NPC when i click directly on one. If add-ons (like the Steam OverlayUI or Xfire) will screw that up, i'll be sure to close out before i play.

I can't speak to those add-ons, but try the following:

- Hover your mouse over the NPC until you see the name pop-up (if you have that option set). If you cannot click to select the NPC at that point, something is wrong.

- If you don't have the show tag on hover option set, then try clicking more in the middle (waist) of the npc as opposed to the head or legs/arms. This usually works for me, even when moving.
