I am new to PS but I am not so new to Linux, so technical terms are ok. And if I don't understand the terms, I will research and will learn something new so I won't have to next time. First off, my computer setup is an Acer Aspire 5920 laptop, with an Intel core 2 duo 5500 (or some other OEM variant) clocked at 1.66 Gigahertz each core, 3 Gigs of ddr/2 ram, an Intel GMA 965 x3100 onboard video, and Mandriva 2008.1 (spring). I have PS 0.4.01 and I installed it to my /home directory (if it makes any difference I used a ~ instead of typing my home directory...but that shouldn't matter right?) I have updated using the psupdater program, after I had to set the updater xml to active=true or however it was set, and that still didn't help. If I set my screen color to 16 bit on my system rather than on the pssetup screen, i can get to the login screen of PS. I click ok to login and it crashes the program. If I set my color to 24 bit, I can login, see a glimpse of the make a character screen and then it hard crashes, causing the x server to crash and reboot in an endless loop, during which time I can't do anything. Control+alt+backspace does nothing, alt+f4 does nothing, ctrl+q or c or x doesn't work either. I have to hold the power button to shutdown and reboot that way. Following is the terminal output for when i have the screen set to 16 bit color. I cant get any output for when its set to 24 bit, but i can try to pipe it to a txt file. Here's the terminal output:

After this, it keeps "running" the program, at which time i type ctrl+c to get a new prompt. There's also error log output, which is:

From what I have read on the other topics I haven't seen another problem like this. If anyone can help, please do! Thank you!
