« on: August 20, 2008, 12:47:03 am »
Hi, I have Linux 2007 OS and after I download the game .. I first restart the PC of course and made sure my OS had the most updates installed and did the plane shift updater which didn't work at all...  The first time the game mouse was real slow and I was trying to login... it just went all over the place... the secound time after I reinstall the game... the screen was black for a sec and the program just turn off :@#\

Here's my specs:

NVIDIA GeForce FX and later

My drivers that I use for my Audio is: snd-intel8x0

CPU::3gb
RAM:4gb
HD:167GB

if you need any more info... please let me know and thanks ;D

ok... I got the game up.. The only way i did it was to restore my PC with my backup restore program.

The only problem I'm having is.. the cursor  is moving real slow... "it's going all over the place when I try to do anything with the game... with the mouse"

Please get back and thanks! :)

The problem with the cursor moving slowly across the game screen is because your graphics card is not up to the job of running PlaneShift with PlaneShit's current configuration.

One way to prove this is: if you point your characters view at the sky or the ground (pageup, pagedn), you will probably find that your mouse cursor performance improves; your graphics card is not working so hard at this point.

Possible solution:
- From the tool bar, click the Options button.
The Options window will be displayed.

- Under Graphics, select Details.
On the right of the Options window, turn the Distance value down to: 100 or less, NOT zero.

- Click the Save button.

If this helps, your mouse cursor should start to respond more smoothly. You can then adjust the Distance value for more optimal results.

Different locations/maps in PlaneShift require different amounts of graphics card processing so moving to an open field area will put less strain on your graphics process compared to the Plaza for example.

Hoping this helps
