New Linux Game SIte
« on: August 22, 2008, 10:37:42 am »
Hello people!

I'm the maintainer of a very new site for native linux games:
The Linux Game Database http://www.lgdb.org
The aim of the site is to create an easy and feature rich tool to find games fast and provide a quick jet comprehensive impression.

I added Planeshift to the database.
http://www.lgdb.org/node/24

The sites relies heavily on game attributes like genre and features to form extensive filter possibilities for the user. It would be great if someone would check the information i provided and see if all is correct, please let me know if you like to have anything changed.

Ciao,
XOIE

Welcome XOIE!

That's a promising website, you've already got quite a few games there. It's handy to browse by attributes/OS, and the review/score system is good to have too. Being able to sort a selection by rank or something else would be great, but I guess you already have a to-do list ;)

Your Planeshift description seems alright to me, you could add the supported platforms (Windows/Linux/MacOS).

Incidentally, I've seen that NeverwinterNights was MMORPG? It's true that some mods make it a permanent world, but saying it's massively multiplayer is probably stretching it very far. Debatable though, maybe I should take a look at the latest worlds out there.

If you're looking for other links to MMORPG games, you could ask here or do a search, it's a recurrent topic.

Keep up the good work!  :)

Thanks,
Of course you are right about neverwinter nights, changed that, and changed the platforms for planeshift ;)
is there some sort of an official video for planeshift?

I would recommend you pick a few more recent screenshots from http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=26613.0 and use them. We have had changes to the lighting system in the maps that makes the screenshots you have very outdated.

i took some time to look through the suggested thread for pictures and although they might display an advanced stage of the game i had a hard time finding something that even had looked nice, if you have something particular in mind can you please post a link?

Nice site!  Would you mind giving me a list of all the drupal plugins you used?

Where there art open source, there out monkeys and other bits of randomness.

Please kill the Linux Game Tome.  Also, make sure PlaneShift is spelled with a capital S.

well, the improtant ones are: cck, views (a lot!), contemplate, advanced forum, brilliant gallery, fivestar, emfield, quicktabs, pathauto, similar terms....

P.S. PlanShift with capital S.
