This is a funny 'coincidence'... Just today my school's server went down, along with our power. Perhaps all the servers of the world will go down, one by one! Beware! It's a conspiracy! Ahh!

Hmmm...  My server and my works server went down a couple of weeks ago.  So we already passed it.  But this is kind of strange.  Or not since servers go down all the time.

Unless the game-engine is redesigned to use a 'swarm' of not-so-dedicated servers spread around the globe instead of one big one...

Technically possible I guess, but friggin amount of work to get it done.

I talked to Xordan just a seconed ago over email, he said he was almost possitive something failed, but depending on what it is, it could be tommorow, could be next week, no one knows.

Hey, how about forming a self help group for PS players during server offline times? The server is dead now for a few days and some people might suffer from withdrawal syndrome  like  ,  ,   , or     . I think these folks deserve some support! I would be the first to join! I miss my regular evening gaming time - so much!!!!

Does anybody have an idea how to set up such an endeavor

lol that is why when the server goes down ppl pop onto planeshifts' Irc channel.  Irc freenode     #planeshift

im going back to runescape, it may not be as good as planeshift, but at least the server doesnt constantly crash.  maybe ill come back in another couple months to see how its going like last time i stopped playing.  later all.

Lets be nice here and not cause any problems for the mods.  If he wants to go play runescape instead of chill with us while we wait this out let him and just ignore him. 


Hmmm.....  Hardware failure is sooooo annoying.  Best of luck to the planeshift team as always.  Hopefully you guys can sort this out quickly if not you still have my full support though.  I would wait forever and still support you guys for your awesome free game.

I just want to see how it works...I've played several MMOs and this one looks cool. Best of all its features is that it's free, I must say.

Even though it's not finished, I can easily say it's worth it MC.  I've only played for three days, maybe a total of 5-8 hours ingame if I am lucky.  From what I have seen in such a very short time has gotten me hooked.    May not mean much to anyone, but Im hard to hook in less than 10 hrs.  Can't wait till it comes back.
