Lol, I am still laughing at this.  My reason for not leaving this site is because I am trying to get to know the planeshift members since I am new.  However I think I am getting a strange side of them, not there usual.  So I might take you up on your offer.

Strange there hasn't been an official announcement.  Rumors maybe?

Some of us you are seeing in normal light, others not...

We are all a little anxious about the server being down. One thing that is common, is for there to not be a lot of news coming from the people officially connected to the game. This is improving, hence the original post from Xordan, but this is a normal passtime when things are down. Sitting here pondering the answers to the questions of the PS universe and how all could be made better... if only...

So... sit back, relax, and PLEASE don't take things too seriously here...

OMG, PLEASE get the server up soon, I can't even function without it.  I can't pay attention in school, I've barely eaten since the server is down, I had to try hard not to cry in class today, but when I got on the bus to go home, it all came out and people laughed at me.  My only friends are on planeshift, all the kids at school are dumb, I had to take three times the recommended sleeping pill dose just to get a half decent sleep last night, PLEEEEEASE get the server running, PLEASE!!!  I haven't complained since the beginning, but I'm a mess now, please just do it for me, PLEASE!!!

lol, I'm just kidding, but this post was inspired by a lot of people on this forum...  PLEASE, guys...  Lighten up! lol

I would happily donate $150 USD now, and then donate $20 USD per month on an automatic basis, if it would allow the PlaneShift team to purchase decent server hosting.  If there are enough others that have gainful employment and would be interested in voluntarily contributing some similar amounts, I don't see why they should ignore this as a possibile course of action for the future of the server.

I have spoken to several others already who would be willing to put forth money each month for a reliable PlaneShift server.  Please consider this as a possibility.  Free is not always the best choice.

If enough people were willing to donate, there would end up being be a substantial safety buffer in the bank, to handle any unforseen costs.  The PlaneShift server running from its current Singapore host is out for weeks each year and the techs there don't even service servers on weekends.  It seems that relying on donations would be substantially more reliable than relying on the current hosting setup.

while being self employed and not having a reliable paycheck I would be willing to kick in a monthly stipend  for the cause, should it help.

Not dead.  Just badly wounded.  They are trying to nurture it's wounds right now, so please keep checking back every once and a while for it to be fully healed.  If only we had some elven servers with healing powers.

Who likes my symbolism, if you can call it that.  Lol, it's more whatever giving human characteristics to a non-human form thing.  I was bad at literature.  :P

Personifying. I got A plusses in creative writing in elementary, but then in high school I discovered the joys of cutting class (don't skip school, kiddies - it'll mess your career up!) >_>;;;

Anyway...yeah, if I was making more money I'd contribute, but the whole reason I sign up to FREE games is that they're free. Plus, right now, most of the money I make is reserved for college. In college, I'm going to take art and animation courses, and if I'm still on PS by the time I'm confident in my skills, I'll probably have joined the team at some point, thus contributing my work rather than my money, anyway. Also, the server has been mostly reliable so far - bashing it for being broken is like telling someone they suck because they broke their leg. Yay for personification!

Also, I agree with Edig. Join #planeshift!

I second that, though I am not quite sure about the amount. Bue that is more a matter of my personal income that change from month to month.

If there are enough others that have gainful employment and would be interested in voluntarily contributing some similar amounts, I don't see why they should ignore this as a possibile course of action for the future of the server.
And that is the main problem of it all. *If* there are enough people. While I think some *would* pay, I fear too many would not. Look at things like "giftware", it just doesn't seem to work so well. That's not to say, that they couldn't give it a try, though.

I'd be willing to do $5.00 a month ongoing... (I'm a teacher...  I don't get paid well...)
