Clacker Tag | A Quick Introduction
« on: September 01, 2008, 05:14:08 pm »
Edig stands up straight as he addresses the younger crowd that's gathered; all wanting to know more about 'Clacker Tag'.

Edig clears his throat, "Good Morning."
"I'm please to see that more people are interested in the sport of clacker tag and I hope you all find this equally fun and informative."

To start off with, there has been a rumor that clacker tag can and should be played with more than one clacker", Edig looks at the clacker beside him.  "Not so.  This is the only clacker I've used and I've had this clacker for going on 6 months now and we are just now starting to get to know each other's quirks.  If done right, the clacker will have just as much fun as the..." Edig pauses trying to think of the word, "Clackee."  Then he adds in a lower voice, "besides... what fun would it be to have many clackers flying through the air at one time?", then pauses to imagine a clacker rainstorm.

"Now, here are some basic rules to clacker tag...

1. Never kill your clacker.  It's the whole reason for clacker tag so if you kill your clacker...  no tag...
2. Never play clacker tag in the dungeons. (for a moment Edig looks embarrassed) A clacker can hit the big posts and could die if you throw it hard enough.
3. Always aim your clacker carefully before launching it your victim, er, I mean...  other player.
4. Always make sure the other person can't kill you if they get mad that you just launched a clacker at them.
5. Give your clacker a break, (says in a lower voice) not literally though, after 5 to 10 launches.
6. The goal is not to kill the other player or players or the clacker, but rather to have fun."

Still addressing the small crowd, "Okay...  Now...  The basics...

1.  Pick up the clacker and aim
2. Throw the clacker in the direction you are aiming
3. Shout out, 'Clacker Tag'.
4. Run like Dakkru herself is after you."

"If you are the intended victim one of several things can happen...

1. You get hit with the clacker and become 'It' in which case you automatically must chose a new 'It' to throw the clacker.
The clacker also becomes yours so you could say that it's your "It".  Thats usually because the person who threw the clacker is now running as fast as they can to the next town.
2. You catch the clacker and can now throw it at someone else or release the clacker in which case it will return to the original thrower who must start over again.
3. You get hit in the head in which case the person throwing the clacker, if he or she was smart, would run over to you, pick up the clacker, and again run like Dakkru was after them.
4. You dodge the clacker in which case the thrower must retrieve the now angry clacker and try again."

Alternatively, if you are unable or not strong enough to throw the clacker, you can always use the clacker poo but you must wash really really good after and you will spend alot of your time running away from angry people.

Edig now picks up a clacker and carefully choses a target...

"CLACKER TAG"

[Edit: added the word younger to the first sentence.  Some people are old and stuffy and don't like playing games other than gambling and this was a younger crowd. (for the most part I think)]

There is a mistaken idea about various forms of Clacker Tag.

While it is true that I often enjoy playing with one of my pets in the square, it is not true that I am playing clacker tag.  I guess in a way it probably looks like I'm playing tag, but the truth of it is that my clacker has become so overweight that when ever I throw it as someone, I always have to heal that person or take them to a better healer than me so that they can be revived cause they look funny after the clacker hits them.

So what I'm actually doing is making my clacker lose weight by getting him to follow me everywhere I go.  Otherwise one day it's going to kill someone and then i'll feel bad.

Either way though, it's still having fun so nevermind. *Edig Grins*
