Hi ^_^

Hi everyone, I'm absolutely new to this game so you will need really much patience with me ^^

I'd like to introduce myself: i'm from Italy, and i've already played online games such wow and L2. I'm using a linux platform to play (ubuntu), and I was able to install PlaneShift (but i noticed that at this moment server is down o.o), so I decided to begin reading syte and forum.

Now I have a pair of question for you! ^_^

I noticed that the internet domani is ".it". Isn't there a basic Italian community in this project? May I contact them? Isn't there any "in game association" fully made by Italians?

A fully Italian guild (if that's what you meant by "in game association fully made by Italians")? I don't think that it exist and I don't think that this will be a great RP guild 
For the first question: Talad, our IG God, is Italian (as some other people here: http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=32437.0 obviously I'm one of them  ).
Anyways I don't think that there is an Italian only association.
Sadly you have to wait for you character, because, as other people said, right now the server is down... But you can look around in the forum, just to understand better our rules. 
Hope that I didn't misunderstood something, as I usually do...

If I am not mistaken at one time there was a French guild. I do not see why there cannot be an Italian guild. Just remember that we speak English in game.

I do know which the good rules for good playing are, and I do use them, there are no more secrets about me

PS since i'm still reading the top page instruction (like history and races), I've not understood just one thing: is the game "role playing style" (I.e. i have to to talk to other PGs like I was really my character), or is it a "free style" game?

PlaneShift has a focus on roleplaying if you talk ooc use brackets

There cannot be a guild where the goal is talking in the guild own language, that's what I meant.

I was talking about DnD to my wife and her friends a few days ago, and it led to my trying to find a good-looking, free MMORPG that she could play on her WinXP laptop and I could play on my iMac. Sadly I only discovered the game 18 hours ago! So I decided to do what I could in the meantime: download the client onto both computers, patch and then run the updater, tweak the settings to our liking, and get basically get both machines prepped so that we're ready to jump in when the server comes back online.

Anyway, like Danthes I didn't think I was supposed to post in the official Intro thread until I'd actually created an account in the game... so I'm just lurking and reading in the meantime (aside from this post).

In response to the idea of an Italian guild, the way I see it is there isn't a reason to create Guilds based on real world associations, as they should be created for IC (in character) reasons.

As far as an Italian community thing goes, I don't think there is one, but there is nothing stopping you from starting something similar to the German planeshift community, they have their own forums, I believe.
