About in game "law"
« on: September 10, 2008, 03:02:55 pm »
Maybe this argument has already been discussed in the community, but I wasn't able to find it, so anyway I decided to open this post, also to tell my opinion.

I noticed there is some sort of "law" in the game, but I wasn't able to find it written somewhere.

With "law" I don't intend the game rules, but a real roleplay law, such as "do not steal anything to anyone", or "do not kill anyone".

Then, I thought: if it DID exist some sort of law, IC players could be "good" or "evil" with a stronger sense and characterization, isn't that right?

And now we could discuss, for example, "how an outlaw could be punished?", for example with jail or death, but not by GMs, but some "good" IC players that could be "guards".

I'm thinking about a fully roleplay vision, obviously. I DO know that there are some limitation, and maybe, after discussing it we could post this proposal in the "wish list", if the community likes it.

This is just an idea. Feel free to express any opinion.

Danthes, simply a n00b ^_^

Laws tend to be written in books, so looks for books or where you might find them ;)

this should NOT be considered a spoiler, since anyone asking a NPC Ingame should get this answer to being asked about the law:

Well, I would check out the Octarch's decree.  I would go check out the Octarch's residence for a copy, and ask around there if you have any questions.

It is not far from Kada EL's, which is ironically not on, but is off of, 'octarch's way'.  All citizens and visitors should be encouraged to know the law, but remember, not knowing it is not an excuse to break it.

That is what I would expect any law abiding, and some non-law abiding residents to say... with minor wording ....

(unlawabiding might say to learn the law, so you know how to avoid it, eh?)
