[ORGANIZATION] The Writers Co-operative
« on: September 15, 2008, 09:17:41 pm »
The idea behind this organization came when i realized the sheer numbers of authors and book sellers, each with an individual selection of books. So, in this each member signs a contract allowing all other members sell their books in return for the ability to sell any of the other members books. This allows each sellers list of books to be much longer allowing for huge bookstores all around
The only criteria for joining is that you must have a piece of writing which is felt by myself and other members to be of reasonable quality. To see about joining please contact me either in game or via PM's

[EDIT]Almost forgot, the author of the book will be paid 50% of the sale price of each book sold[/EDIT]

People learn. Those who won't challenge themselves outside their limited comfort zone and actually do something often forget that.

Best of luck with your organization Sheneer. I suggest that you elaborate a bit on the benefits of joining this group.

Well the benefits are obvious. If you join early you can stop others from joining because you don't like them by saying their book isn't of reasonable quality. That way you can force competition out of business and generally ruin annoyances.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

'reasonable quality' is there to stop someone writing 'there once was a dog called spot, it had a ball, it played with the ball, it went home' in order to gain access to other peoples books

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the playerbase were of that level of talent. Then again noone can really prove that what you just used as an example isn't literary genius as it is all subjective. But that aside, yes, you must either be entirely exclusive or entirely inclusive. Don't throw quality to the wind altogether and don't narrow business too much. There is a perfect balance you must strive to achieve.

When the Organization grows we will create a council that views all submissions and votes

Like "The Council of Yliakum"? Oh sorry, I need to post constructive criticism. I agree with Parallo, you need to balance it. But do it wisely. *thefirstsentenceisthemostimportantignoretherest*
