Getting the game to work

I've checked all the stickies and done as many changes/updates as i can find. I can open the client, select my character, and hit join. but as it loads, i get "the application psclient has quit unexpectedly"...am i doing something wrong?

I've done the README-osx fixes, I've changed the false to true, i've run the updater, i've done every fix i've seen. Any more suggestions please? I really do want to get back into PS...

I think PowerPC.

since 0.3.019 Crystal Blue || Sometimes a ragequit is the right decision.

So PowerPC was before Intel? I've got intel on my MacBook i'm pretty sure

EDIT Turns out i was at a bad location that wouldn't load. Thanks to Peeq and Aiken for helping me figure this out :) I was on OjaRoad 1 *shrug* hopefully this spot can be found :\

since the title of this thread is getting the game to work...and I can't do that due to server issues, and my original post was deleted. here's a result of a tcpdump on port 7777:

These are only the first 3, but notice there are no replies back from laanx (the IP that isn't x-ed out), and that there is the note, bad udp cksum. NOW since the original post that i was putting this information in WAS deleted, you can't go back and see what my intial problem was.

We did try with another port and other addresses, and there was a response back. BUT my question is...why isn't laanx responding? or is it just me and there is indeed a firewall in place?

Update: Had it running then my harddrive crashed. So i've been trying to download it again and when it's loading, it crashes again. This is the log I get:

? Does this mean anything? Also, when i tried to run pssetup and set that thing to 1/2, it says "is not supported on this system"

try setting texture downsampling again in pssetup i have never heard of the  message you reported.
