Psclient freezes
« on: October 13, 2008, 03:44:30 am »
I think my caricature may be corrupted he doesn't go through the fighting moves in combat , just stands there. The fight continues to a conclusion and I usually win - I've played long enough to know what I can beat - but my guy just stands there not swinging at all.
And then theres the constant freezing up of my ps client, the cursor becomes an hourglass and scene is frozen and stays that way. When I open taskmanager there are always two instances of Planeshift Steel Blue  both 'not responding'.

I'm running Win XP Pro sp2 on a AMD x2 2400 2.3ghz
Asus M3A78-EM motherboard
2gb ram
I'm using the onboard ATI 3200 video w/256mb ram (shared)
ADSL 384KBS up/3552KBS down

I made an alt and found that he does go through the fighting moves. But still froze up.

EDIT:
i think I got it sorted, updated my video driver - ATI Catalyst Control Center v8.9 - and all seems to be fixed.

EDIT:
That didn't work....still freezes up.

Ok its a driver issue, thanks for the link was searching for 'freezing' not 'crashing'

EDIT:
I've installed the 8.10 CCC driver still no joy.
