Start Game
« on: October 30, 2008, 12:03:19 pm »
Where to go at the beginning of the game? There only 3 characters around and you walking around them and there is no way to go. What do I need to do? When i try to speak to them, they don't replay to anything except hi. And others propose to learn fight or magic, but then nothing happens. What to do? Please help!

You may want to have a look at http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30436.0 to get a hang for talking with NPCs.

Btw, you should use the search function of the forum the next time. This topic has been brought up a few times before already :) ;)

Welcome to PlaneShift and good luck

What you are in is known as the tutorial. If you look, stickied at the top of the newbie help forum you're in, is a thread that helps you with the tutorial.
There is an alternative, more probable theory that 9/11 was in fact caused by Hanson's 1997 smash hit 'MMMBop.'

I read the tutorial. I go talk to NPC. The first one speaks about how to move, the next ones propose to learn fight n magic, but how to do so?then I try to answer "yes" and all stuff like that, but they answer that don't understand.. or i need money, then where do i get money, I killed a lot of rats there but they keep appearing again. So you can kill them forever.. Sorry guys, but I don't get it still.

I completed give command by typing on chat-command:"/give", but for the examine icon (eye-con) it doesnt work for furnace: " /targetinfo"  when the furnace is selected.

PS. to press ctrl doesn't work

If you have a two-button-mouse, please try to set the opening of the context-menu to rightclick. To do so, please go to Options/Mouse. On the right you see the first entry labeled "Selection". Open it and use the according "Set"-Button to set "ContextMenu" to rightclick. Then you should be able to open the contextmenu.

That the problem because stupid macs have olny one button mouse. Is there any other way to get this contextmenu by pressing something on a keyboard?

you could set the shortcut for the contextmenu to some other key/mouse-combination. If you press the alt-button for example, while clicking on the "set"-button, the shortcut should be set to "alt+leftclick".

you most probably need a game-master to teleport you. You can either log into the game and type “/who game" into the console. If Gamemasters are around you should see the under system-tab. If not, you can find them also on irc (room "#planeshift-gmtalk"). The necessary details can be found here:

http://www.planeshift.it/irc.html

A third option could be to open a petition in game. But it might take a while until a GM gets back to you this way, so the best would be to find one directly

Can you try to sit down and stand up again before you move? (/sit /stand or 'z')
This is no joke, I saw that helping with crashes  ;D

Apart from that gms are really first choice to get out of this situation.

Thanks Guys! Game master took me out from there. But I still have problems and my game keeps crushing as soon as I get out of town (arena for example) I have

Mac OS X Version 10.5.5

Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 1 GB 667 MHz DR2 SDRAM

What version of PSClient should I download? I have psclient 10.3.9. Maybe I downloaded wrong one? And other question is: my uptater doesn't run, I downloaded a new updater but still doesn't open (it starting to open, the icon is jumping at the bottom but then disappear) Also I did some changes at psclient.cfg file in textedit, but that didn't help.
