Hey there!
Greetings to you all!!!

I just found out about that incredible project (where have I been!! ) while searching for some stuff on Sourceforge. I\'ve been an avid MMORPG player since EQ\'s beginning. I\'ve also played Daoc and I\'m now still playing AO from time to time.

Since I\'m at work and I have\'nt downloaded the client or anything, I would like to know what\'s the state of this game right now, are new comers welcomed to join, what\'s expected of the players, how can we help ??? or anything you \"veterans\" could tell me that would help or make me want to go home right away to download and try this out!!

I know the game is in Alpha state, but still, I\'m pretty interested in it\'s development and all that Opensource mentality (contributed myself on a few os project on sourceforge)..

anyways, thanks in advance to all who will respond, and I hope this will be the beginning of a great adventure.

state of the game:

the world looks pretty impresive, but can be laggy at times (server\'s fault probably)

about playability: you can make a character, you can move around as in the final game, you can pick up things (mostly crystals, and rarely weapons), you can comunicate with other players

...it sounds dull, but is actually quite fun and addictive!!! :]

in-game name: Seeln

Ah, but you can also trade with the crystals! You can trade for weapons and the famous beer mug. (Very expensive though, you need lots of crystals.) Its very new people welcome if you ask me, the only thing I dont advise people to do is say \"This game sucks/the graphic suck/there\'s nothing to do\"

Otherwise have fun wandering the dungeons and finding crystals, hope to see you around! :D

Thanks a lot guys!

Your replies gave me back faith in this community!

Now that\'s something that makes me want to go home and explore this new world!!

I\'ll definitely give it a shot and try to help as much as I can... even if some laugh about it...

Thanks again, and see you soon!

Well, First off, Welcome to the community, hope ya stick around.  It\'s quite a nice play to be, stop by the IRC channel sometime if you need a little tech support or we could chat, (I don\'t know the channel off the top of my head).

I\'m sure it has been answered in previous posts but I am a lazy bum, so I dont feel like looking down.  Yes, you are welcome to join our community, silly question, but since this game is still in the pre-alpha stages we dont harp on people for being \"Noobs, newbies, n00bs,\" whatever you wanna call them...

In the Game all you can really do is socialize, collect crystals, and help look for bugs to help out the devs in fixing those problems.  In game, people are generally nice, it has been rumored that their have been a few annoying people in the game, asking for weapons and what not,  but you should feel right at home with most people.

Their is not much to help with that I am aware of.  I know that they do look for dev\'s, and the req. for that can be found on the website.  You are not required to do anything at all besides have a good time.

Thats about all I have to say,
Have a good day darlings,

Actually, it\'d be better to describe it as Tech Demo state.

Okay, enlighten me on something. About how many people would you say have a mug? I have one, and it wasn\'t \'very expensive\'. One emerald to be exact. If anyone wants, I will tell who sold it to me.

Hi guys!
Thanks again for the replies!
I\'ve downloaded the client yesterday and installed it and everything has gone real nicely. I must admit I was impressed..(having read most of the \"help me\" posts before, I was ready for the worse! but it never came.. :)
and within minutes I was near the big statue in the center of the town).

For what it\'s worth, I think this demo is just awsome! It gives great expectation as to what the final product will be, and I\'m really looking forward to be part of the community that gravitates around it.

I also suggest to all other \"noobs\" out there to have a look at the faq on these boards, a lot of my questions where anwsered in it, and the rest, you can ask in game to almost anybody (just /shout your questions, someone will anwser for sure).

Now, another question:
is there a place where we can send suggestions and or comments about what\'s in the demo right now? I know everything is not in it\'s final stage (very very far from it), but, like most of you I\'m sure, I would have a couple of comments on some aspects of the demo. It\'s not really bug related (because almost every bugs I\'ve found were already in the list of known bugs), it\'s more like \"improvements\" or \"wishlist\".. is there a place where we can see what\'s being worked on, what\'s \"final\" or just \"temporary\", what will be in the next patch, etc?
Basically, where can we reach the devs, without bothering them too much! ;)

anyways, you\'ll see more of me in the weeks to come that\'s for sure, Planeshift has proven to be really nice, and the few peoples I\'ve met in my quick game session yesterday were really kind.

Makes me wanna come by as often as I can, to see the progression of this great project!

Keep up the great work devs!
...and most of all:

THANKS FOR SHARING it with us!! :)

Well, you can go to the IRC channel and bother the devs there, there\'s usually one or two. There is the wish list board, and I suppose in the general discussion you could put your comments. As far as whats being worked on, I guess you could just bother the devs again, but they do throw little hints into threads if someone gets close.

before posting somthing in the wishlist section or bugs or whatever don\'t forget to do a search so that you can be sure no one has talked about it before I personally don\'t care when a subject gets more then one thread and has been talked about before but others do so watch yourself
