I also believe it is very stupid to run out of stamina half way to oja. Running to Oja takes about ten minutes, and our characters are jogging, not running flat out. I estimate Oja to be what, two miles from Hydlaa? That's a twelve-thirteen minute run for me. A maxed endurance character should be able to make that in 11

Without stopping. As it is, it takes the average character, say, 15-20 minutes to get to Oja due to resting. Another thing is, walking should not drain stamina very much at if ANY. Most average people IRL can walk for several hours straight. I work in a warehouse where I am on my feet for two sets of about 4 hours straight, with a twenty minute break in the middle, as is everyone else. And I stress, these are old people working with me, like, some of them in their 50s, 60s, and even one guy I work with, a vietnamese guy named Binh, is I think 72. They're not in amazing shape like most PS characters, yet they can walk around all day lifting heavy boxes, constantly moving with hardly a break. If this is how it is 'supposed to be' then how it is 'supposed to be' needs a big rebalance. Running should take less stamina especially at higher levels (think marathon runners) and walking should take hardly any. That or make running faster than a jog.
