I Need help game is unplayable... (fixed by a fresh install)

I'm following the instuctions for mac and the updater says i have the latest update then i go to pssettings and console says that it crashed unexpectanly because of a bus error so i skip that and i run planeshift and all that pops up is a white window, the dock makes the icon appear on it but the indicator for telling me is off (even though its not set to be on the dock when off... the computer starts to run super slow (activity monitor says that theres no new strain on the ram or cpu...) and planeshift does not work also if any use when i drag a window over the plane shift it makes a black mark where the window and drop shadow is... i have not checked console to see what is going on...

I would recommend trying to go into PS setup and make texure downsampling 1/2 and then doing the readme fixes...there's also a change that can be made to vertex buffer but i'm not sure if it should be on or off. I'll edit this post if I can find that fix...Good luck

yeah but when ever i run pssetup it crashes and console say its a type of bus error and when i run it under terminal it tells me bus error im now gonna try to get a fresh copy off apple again...

Rather than make a new thread, I will post to this one.  I had PS working some 6 months ago.  I came back to check it out again and downloaded the .4.02 version for Mac.  That was on the 27th Nov.  Seems to launcvh OK but the server has yet to be up since then.  I looked all over the forums for a notice about extended server downtime but didn't see anything.  http://hydlaa.com  shows that the server is offline but that there are 90 players online (?!?).  http://laanx.fragnetics.com/ shows no server status but that (currently) 144 players are on.  I saw lots of posts regarding .4.01 and fixes to XML files etc. but nothing about problems with .4.02

I'm running OS 10.5.5
Dual 3.0 Intel Mac
7GB RAM
Radeon X1900 graphics card.

Also, if I have sound enabled, the background music for the login screen is very choppy and messed up.  Is there a post about any fixes I need to do that I missing?  Or is the server offline for the time being? Thanks!

anyone finding this by search, by problems were all solved by getting version .4.03 for Mac.  Installed fine, plays fine
