I would also quite like to see some thief type skills, such as lockpicking and stealth techniques - this could provide people with a completely different way of completing quests if you chose to concentrate on those skills, it could also provide a useful skill for hire, for situations where brute force is not the best answer.

personally, i think having houses and jobs would make it feel like a fantasy version of \"The Sims\" but, jobs could be nice, if like ur job didnt have hours, like u could be a merchant, or even like a guild leader as a job(it takes work!), as for houses, think of all the area u would need for them, although, it is not a bad idea at all, and every good game needs spells effects!  instead of at the bottom of hte screeen saying, u hit enemy b for 2 points of damage with ur evoke fire.  it would be nice to see good combat motions instead of a corny _\\|/_(thats a sequence of a sword moving forward, i am not flipping u off )

Cool spell effects would really be just a bonus, and alcohol aftereffects and houses would be excellent.
Oops, I forgot to mention natural disasters and weather, if that is possible. Maybe seasons too, esp. winter....

WOOT!  Ahem, eh...

I second the vote for mining.  Specially if the terrain is deformable.   Just imagine the wonders of a rich smith opening up his own mines.  And if a player stops playing and abandons his mine shafts and tunnels, wild beasties could move in.  Plus, think of the joy of walking along adventuring with your party, when suddenly you notice the clay like surrounding rock is Kimberlite and you realise you\'ve stumbled onto a possible diamond pipe         of course, why bother the rest of the party?  Go file a claim in town, and come back with to set up ops!   That would rock!
