I have a simple remedy for this.
In Yliakum, much like when you are in the wilds of many lands, choose where you roll out your bedroll and take a nap. In a land called africa I hear it was dangerous to sleep next to your recent kill, as something called hyenas or somethingelse called lions would kill you. In yliakum the same goes true. If you take a nap [go afk] in the wild or other dangerous places, you may be killed as well.
[so you can either log out, I mean, come on, you log back in where you were,so not like you need to travel for hours to get back there) or go to a safe spot, like Hydlaa, Ojaveda, or even the bronze door fortress. ]
I understand you wont like this answer, but as per:
Illysia, it used to work that way. Your char would go into attack mode and kill the creature automatically, but that was widely exploited. So it's a feature, not a bug.
I am no "Elite RP-er" but I think this is ok to lend a little believeablity as well as prevent expoits. I sometimes wonder why ppl hate to log off. maybe the real question is "can the devs EASILY set up a semi-logoff state? where you disappear ingame, but can come back and hit "re-connect" to reconnect without logging out completely. otherwise, I would say "Pick your place to rest carefully".
(anyone old enough to remember the games where you had to get to a safe point before you stopped? I dunno, maybe the sheeple games still have that. maybe think of this as a save point, except you are saving a trip through the DR?)
