Beginning tutorial bug.

I went through the entire beginning tutorial, brought all 3 items to the final NPC and gave them to him. I now have the quest that tells me he will teach me important skills - Emotes, etc.

As I was doing this portion of the quest, either I lost connection or the server went down momentarily and when I logged in, I was missing the 3 items he requires (As I had already given them to him), but he still asks for them, even though I have the quest you receive AFTER you give him the items. What should I do? Do I now have to go through the whole tutorial again? 

...Which I tried doing. And when I tell the first NPC to 'give me a quest' She says she doesn't understand.

You do not need to redo the quests, the line you receive about three items is a greet line and will continue to fire at this time even after giving the three items. Review your logs and find the last thing he asked you do (excluding giving the three items) and start from there.
