As I galloped toward Whitti I could see Toru in the distance, also coming to his aid. I could almost see Whitti but I was unsure. I went to Toru and told him of Whitti and he said he must join me too, and then we would go find Larien.

A sudden gust of wind spooked our horses, making them jump and we were whipped off the steeds. The wind blew dust from all around, and then the dust slowly took form. A man in a long, green robe with an even longer gray beard appeared. He lifted his head and eyed both of the warriors. \"Give me the rubies Toru\", said the mysterious man. \"What? How do you know of the rubies, and my name\", asked Toru. \"I know more than you could ever imagine\", replied the man. \"Quickly, give me the rubies and run\", shouted the old man, unsheathing his sword. \"But-\", said Toru but was cut off by the old man\'s quivering eyes, and the shaking hand that was holding the blade. The man lifted his finger tips and said, \"Troupata Nareme\", and the horses calmed and went to the sides of their masters. \"You must trust me Toru, they want you, for you are the key. Your friends are your only protection, keep them close, and ride swift and a gruesome fate I have fortold will not be\", said the man, sweat now trickling from his face. \"Give them to him now Larien\", shouted Bill. \"We may not be able to trust him fully, but I think we can trust him more than them\", he said, his finger pointing at 20 cloaked riders coming into view.

Toru gave the man the rubies and mounted his horse. \"Bill, cover your blade in this\", said the man. Bill grasped a yellow, laced bag and saw green powder inside. He did not wait, and pulled out his sword and poured the powder on it. \"It will glow green when they are near\", he said. Bill mounted his horse and they rode away. \"Whitti is in good care, do not worry\", said a voice from inside Bill\'s head, which sounded just like the old man\'s voice.

The cloaked horsemen grew nearer, and Bill\'s sword glowed bright.

*Whitti\'s head was stiff, so were his other body parts. He tryed to lift it but could not.

Then above, staring at him was an old human. whitti\'s pointed elven ears tweaked up, and the man started talking:

\"Hello, I am Edo Amionus. You felt the hand of one of the Daktreme, You are lucky you survived as you did! I am a Yilir, we only operate in secret here. On the surface we were the healers and high magicians.\"

\"When will my aches leave?\", whitti asked urgently.

\"Your friends have left, pursued by the riders, you must stay, at least a week for the wounds to cure.\", Edo told him.

*whitti suddenly felt a firey urge within him, to follow and revenge.

\"I can feel what you think son of Aldonis.\"

\"but, but, but that is my father...\"

\"Silence child, I am a Yilir, I know, do not doubt me!\"

OOC: Do not interfere with this...ok? You guys do your story of getting to Kadakios and I will make up a way for whitti to join you.

ooc: Sorry about before Whitti, I will stop now.

As we rode on, the plains became very hilly. Bill had an idea, and signaled to the others to follow his movements. He crouched on his horse and suddenly flung himself off and rolled down the grassy hill. The others did so also and then hid under the roots of a large tree. A Daktreme got off its horse and pulled out a dagger. It jumped forward, landing right infront of the tree. Its back was towards Bill and Toru. It walked slowly, gripping its dagger tightly. Suddely, a green shot of energy came forth and blew up the Daktreme. Larien jumped forth and inspected the body. Toru grabbed Larien and pulled him under the tree.

More Daktreme came and lept over the tree with their horses and did not see the three warriors. They got up quickly and ran until they saw the Derinian Mountain, over 35 miles high. They climbed the mountain about 5 miles up and then hid in a cave.

\"What now\", asked Toru. \"I am not sure. Where is Whitti\", asked Larien. \"A....friend has taken him, we know not of where he has gone or how he is doing\", answered Bill. \"But Whitti will be alright, no harm will be done to him, correct?\", asked Larien. \"Exactly\", answered Bill. \"Well...what do we do now then?\", asked Larien. \"I think we should go, go to Kadaikos\", said Toru. \"Why?\", asked Larien. \"Our friend told me that I am the key, that the Daktreme, the cloaked riders, are after me, and after all of us for apparently insulting their empire\", said Toru. \"But they seem to be trying hard to capture me, which means I might be important, that is why we must go to Kadaikos\", says Toru. \"Ok\", said Larien. \"Oh no\", muttered Bill. He was looking over the edge of the mountain side, and several Daktreme or scaling the mountain.

Larien ruffled his wings and took to the skies. Night was soon approaching.
Flying close to the mountain, he saw dozens of Daktreme, galloping up it with ease. But they were not the same as those they had just fought. They were different, somehow. Then he knew why.
A yellow band was tied around each of their wrists, and with startling suddeness he remembered what his grandfather had told him on his deathbed.

\"Ele deted itefi Daktreme\"

Those words, he had thought they were just senseless rambling then. He should\'ve known better.... But that was not the point. The words told of an unimaginable terror, one that he had to keep from his friends, at all costs.....

Larien flew back. \"What did you see? Bill asked gruffly.
\"The Daktreme.....they\'re coming to attack. They have nightvision, and are far too large in number. We have no chance of winning.\" Larien related.
Silence, as everyone digested this piece of news.
\"We can only escape.\" he said again, tersely. And without a second word, he galloped off.
Some part of him felt remorse about leaving his friends behind, but he had too much on his mind.......

ooc: The meaning of the words Larien\'s grandfather said shall be revealed later on. Larien did not really leave his friends, just went on ahead without them, trusting that they would follow.
When our hearts both beat in time,
There\'s magic in your smile,
It seems there\'s nothing we can\'t do.

And within your warm embrace,
My heart will find a place,
Even from afar,
Our love forever shall be, destiny.

ooc:1. I just noticed, Lenric said he would join the adventure, but he isn\'t in? Why? ?(

2. And can we have short term/temporary characters? Like if we go to Kada\'s BBB to stay for a night, do we act her part out or send her a PM to let her join the story?

3. Are Larien, Bill, Toru and Whitti the finalised main characters? Or will we be able to meet other people along the way?

4. Can this adventure be altered a little and then \"published\" in the beta/final version of the game as a book? Maybe even as part of Jayose Library? :D  8)

5. Toru, what is your race and what are you good at (figher, mage, priest, druid etc.)?

OOC:
1. Well he hasn\'t talked at all, so at the moment he is not in. If he replies later then I can use an extra trick to get him in with us and be just as big a part in the story.

2. Sure

3. Yes, and yes.

4. That\'d be awesome!  :D

5. Not sure.

END OOC

As Larien flew upward, I signaled to Toru to follow. We were too high to attempt some sort of drop into safety from the mountain side, so we had no other choice than to climb. For 14 long hours we used every bit of our strength to climb as high as we could. At the end of the fourteenth hour we ended up on a cliff about a quarter of a mile away from the summit. Toru and Larien went into the cliff for rest, but I stayed at the edge to watch for Daktreme. I inspected the cliff side, searching for the them. They weren\'t behind us, and to tell from there determination earlier, they should have been only a minute or so behind them. But they were no where in sight. I smiled, which was very hard in the freezing tempatures of the mountain, and now I could rest.

I turned around around and walked slowly back into the cave. I could not pick up my feet so I went slowly, trudging threw thick snow, back to the cave. As I was walking I heard a sound. It was a clinging sound, such as that of a smith working with metal on an anvil. I looked up, and all I could see was the whirring snow, until I looked at the summit. Tons of ice was right at the edge of the cliff, directly above me. Behind the snow were large, frozen, ice boulders. I looked closer, and I could see the clinging noise was that of the swords of the Daktreme trying to pushing the snow down the mountain. I ran as fast as I could inside the cavern, and told Toru and Larien of the Daktreme.

\"Lets go, now! We must get to Kadaikos, and the mountain pathes are the only way!\", shouted Toru. Bill eyed Larien, and shook his head. \"Lets go\", said Bill. They got up, but just then an avalanche consumed the side of the mountain, and quickly consumed the opening of the cave. \"No!\", said Toru, \"We must get to Kadaikos, to find my true meaning, and to help the citizens of Kadaikos!\" \"Help them?\", asked Larien, \"Why do they need help?\" \"The Daktreme are the soldiers of Ka-Ching-Nata, who is not the rightful emporer of Kadaikos. Ka-Ching-Nata has killed Dorian, the original emporer and covered it up in secrets and lies. He now rules the empire with an iron fist, and it seems he knows of our adventure\", said Toru. \"How did you know that?\", asked Larien. \"I do not know\", answered Toru.

\"Come, the avalanche has opened a pathway. If we follow it, it might lead us threw the mountain and back on the path\", said Bill. The threw got up, put on their weapons, and set off down the path. A sudden chink in the ice wall covering the cave startled the adventures. Not to their surprise, it was the sword of a Daktreme.

\"Quick! Bill, do you have any green powder left?\". Toru said.  Bill quickly threw the bag over to Toru, Toru then poured a bit on the sword that stuck through the ice.
As Larien, Bill, and Toru, heared a sharp screeching sound, Bill said not to touch the sword.  We ran through the open way and a Daktreme seemed to fall ino our path, followed by two more.

Larien noticed a small blue aora around the three daktreme\'s.  \"They are illusions!\" Larien yelled, as he shot an arrow right through them.  We ran on while more dropped into our path, \"run!!\" Bill yelled.  Larien turned around and shot another two arrows and they seemed to make the daktreme\'d bigger.  \"If you see a yellow braclelet than they grow whenever magic hits them\" Toru yelled.  Larien notices a bit of green powder on his bow, \"then neither my bow, nor Bill\'s sword will do any damage!\" Larien said.  \"No, they still get hurt but they grow bigger, not stronger\" Bill says.  \"Faster! they are catc...\" Toru yelled as he fell through the snow.
Bill then also falls through the invisible hole in the ground with Larien.

Bill quickly stuck his sword hilt into the ground and watched a daktreme fall through the whole onto the sword.  \"Haha\" Bill Laughed heartly, \"good idea Bill\" Toru replied to while the body dissapeared and only the cloak was left.

\"What now?\" larien asked while he watched another daktreme fall through and onto the sword.  This one had a yellow bracelet and grew bigger then disappeared leaving just a cloak.  Toru then sighed.

(OOC: I\'m not sure about my character, lets let the story unravel itself and we\'ll see what I am.  And I am not an all out fighter/martial art type of character)

(OOC: The story going to be on Planeshift! Great!, and lets PM Lanric)

(OOC: from here on is my new edit, and I am putting a NPC in the story\")

\"These must be the underground paths to Kadaikos\", Larien says, \"Hmm, yes seems so\" Bill answers.  At that moment something moved in the darkness.  Larien bravely says \"Hynam yin ghanim!\", and a pale light come\'s from the tip of his arrow.  \"Who are you?\", Bill then sternly said.  Toru says, \"I saw him following us, but I didn\'t know he went with us into the mountains\".
\"I didn\'t follow you into the mountains, though I did follow you in the air, when I saw you heading to the invisible pits I came down here my self to continue following you\" the thing said.  \"The underground pits?\" Toru questioned, \"yes that is what we fell into I am guessing\" said Bill.  \"Well what shall we do about this thing?\" Larien exclamed.  \"I beleive we can trust him\" Bill said, \"Yes\" Toru replied.

(OOC: someone else contintue with the thing... I need to go)

OOC: you guys still doing this story?... since i have an idea. I think ill setup a IRC channel along side the Fans channel on games.net that can be used as a MFFORPG for your typical free form RPG, that we can start realtime RPG\'s in... the logs from that can then be either posted or rewritten into a story to be posted on the boards here...

OOC: Awesome, and Toru I was just saying it would be awesome to have this story in the library, not that it is in the library. Anyways, one other thing. You said the person following us fly in or something? I do not understand this exactly, but I have an idea that will make that statement true (because he is not Klyros, right?) and make the person interesting.

The man just sat there, staring with his yellow eyes at each one of us inspecting every nook and cranny as if a beady-eyed, and hungry rat looking for food. He was a Lemur, but you could tell he was not entirely Lemurian. He wore a dark, brown trench coat that hung to his knees, and he had little shoes made of wood and string. He wore a a tiny, and flimsy piece of metal on his head for either a hat or helmet. \"My name is Dar...ummm Kifi\", said the man. \"I think I know why you have come. Please, follow me.\"

Kifi waved his arm for the others to follow, and he led them down a dark path. He put out his palm and said \"Daroom\" and a fire ball appeared in his hand. \"Ummm...Kifi was it? Yes, well, I don\'t think we should use a fire ball, because its going to melt the ice\", said Larien. Kifi chuckled. \"This fire ball isn\'t to give us light, I can see in the dark, its for the troll\", he said. \"For the wh-\", said Larien but was cut off by Kifi\'s shushing. As they went farther down the tunnel, there was a small opening. In it, were pillars lining the walls of the square room. On the floor was a large, metal trap door. Behind that was a wooden ladder, leading to a small wooden door. Kifi instructed the others to get behind the pillars closest to them, and for Larien to ready his bow, and Bill to ready his blade, and for Toru to ready his new axe he found made of fine metal on the ground, next to a corpse.

Kifi consentrated and closed his eyes. The fire ball grew bigger, and suddenly rolled up and turned into a long fire wire like in the shape of a serpent. After more time the tip of the fire slowly formed to an arrow, and the back had firey feathers attached. It had become a fire arrow, something that Larien heard of was only makeable by either fine Lemur mages, or the emporers because they were taught to make them for safety. Larien readied his bow at the door on the floor, and Bill tightened his grip, but Toru was still inspecting his axe which he had decided to lovingly dub \"Rosseta\".

Kifi, lifting his hand that was holding the arrow, opened his eyes, and thrust the magnificent arrow at the lock on the door. There came a creaking noise, and the door slowly lifted. Four gigantic fingers appeared, holding the door. It started to close gently again. Then suddenly the hand ripped off the door, and a giant cave troll climbed from the hole and into the room. In its hand was a mace made of steel, plus it was the size of 4 pterosaurs. Its green body shimered in the faint light lit by the sconces on the walls. Chains were hooked to its hands, but they apparently hadn\'t restrained it. Bill looked at Kifi, and Kifi smiled. \"A obstacle must be over come for the true answers to be revealed\", said Kifi, and he vanished with a flurry of purple dust where he stood. Bill gripped his blade with fury, but then realised what Kifi mean\'t and understood what he must do.

Bill told Larien to steady his bow at the head of the troll. Bill grabbed a rock and threw it at the opposite wall of the room. Larien grabbed two more arrows out of his quiver making it a total of three arrows to shoot at once, this was a sure way to take a troll down. He instructed Larien to fire on his signal. The troll was looking for whatever made the sound and was distracted. Bill waved his hand and lept into the air. Larien shot the arrows, one went straight into its head, and the others into its back and threw its ear. Bill landed on the troll and began furiously stabbing the beast. Toru flung his mighty axe into the leg of the troll, making it fall over. Toru lept off the ledge and onto the ground floor and took the axe. He cut hard into the leg until he completely took it off. The troll swung his arm, and knocked Toru into the wall. Bill was still stabbing the troll, but it got Bill\'s leg and hung him upside down, making him drop his sword. He troll lowered Bill to his mouth and let out a mighty roar.

Suddenly two arrows sped at the speed of light straight into the trolls left eye. It fell over, dropping Bill, and covered its bloody eye screaming in pain. Bill quickly seized his sword and slit the throat of the troll, and finally stabbed it in the chest just in case. Larien woke Toru up and handed him Rosseta. The three climbed the ladder and opened the door.

They seemed to be in some back room of sorts. They could hear chattering just outside the door. They opened the door, and to their surprise, found themselves in \"Kada-El\'s Busty Barmaids Bar\". They saw Kifi sitting on one of the stools and he was nervously talking to Kada-El, who seemed to look surprised by the information she has has just been told by Kifi. Kifi quickly realised the adventurers were ok, smiled, and waved them over. \"Four ales please Kada\", said Kifi. Kada smiled at the adventurers and handed them their drinks. \"Come\", said Kifi, \"Follow me to this table over here\", he said and led them to a corner table. \"I believe it is time for some explanations\", said Kifi. \"That is sure what we need after this huge adventure that made no sense what-so-ever, and what was with you leaving us with the Troll\", asked Toru angrily. \"That was a simple test Toru to see if you are the ones we are looking for. Trust me, that was the least of your worries\", said Kifi.

\"It all started a long time ago\", said Kifi, \"long before Kadaikos was a simple home to Lemurs. Long ago the Klyros lived in a sort of floating world above a large island. They lived in peace and studied, trained, and so on. One day a group of adventuring Klyros decided to look for other citadels like their own to ally with. After searching they found nothing, but did find a city in peril. It was a fairly large village filled with Lemurs. An evil dark lord known as Dakron used his powers to posses Diaboli who would then do the dark lord\'s dirty work. The Klyros quickly called to the others and they rescued the Lemurs and took them to the Island. The Klyros built their life back again, and the Lemurs were thankful. The Klyros later helped some dwarves, but most of the dwarves left after they found a tunnel leading under the Island, under water, and to a coal filled mine. But some dwarves did stay, like your anscestor Bill. And the Klyros who found the Lemurs was your anscestor, Larien. Later Demorians allied with the Klyros and they became very close friends. One time a Lemur and a Demorian were married. Their son was your father Toru. That son was the ruler of Kadaikos, the Island. That son, is me\".

\"What!\", yelled Toru. \"Quiet, shh. Ever since I became ruler, Dakron was furious. He hated inter-breeds and decided to make me pay for who I am. So he murderer your mother and kidnapped you. I searched for 7 long years for you. I never found you and feard the worst. But then I heard you, and the decendants of our wise and cunning men were helping you. And so did the son of Dakron, Ka-Ching-Nata. He is more stronger now, and he wants you dead Toru.  Toru, do you still have the birth mark on your left hand\", asked Kifi. \"Yes\", answered Toru in astonishment of the words he had just heard. \"If you place that at the sacred ruins of Kadaikos, the holy power of Laanx will be unleashed. The power healed the lives of the Lemurs threw out their time their. But when Ka-Ching-Nata was coming, they built a special vault for it. Only those with that mark can open it, and retrieve the power to destroy Ka-Ching-Nata. I was the last person alive with the mark, or so I thought, so I fled the Island. But Ka-Ching-Nata found me, I hid as long as I could and used a dagger to scratch out the birthmark as much as I could. It hurt so much, but I was helping Kadaikos. He announced I was dead, but he was too embarrased to tell the truth that I had evaded him\", said Kifi, who laughed a bit and sipped his ale.

\"That means you are not Kifi then, correct?\", asked Bill. Kifi smirked. \"You seem to have the cunningness of George, your ancestor. You are correct, I made this name just in case you were Daktreme in disguise. I am Dorian, ruler of Kadaikos\", he said. \"Well that explains a whole lot\", said Toru. \"I have some reservations for rooms tonight, and Kada has extra security to help us. She is a good friend of mine whom I will always trust. Lets get a good rest tonight, for we have a long journey tomorrow\", said Dorian who now sipped the last few drops out of his mug before licking his lips clean of any left over ale and retiring to bed.

(ooc: there are dark elves in this story? ?( )

In the middle of the night, unable to fall asleep, Larien got up and headed to the balcony. He stood there a long, long time, staring at the stars, as if admiring their beauty and splendour. Finally, an hour later, he turned and walked away. He had made up his mind.

The next morning, when the others woke for breakfast, they found that Larien was already up. He was dressed in his usual black cloak, and the bow and Falchion sword were sheathed by his side. As the others approached, he glanced up and nodded briefly in acknowledgment.

Toru and Bill took places beside him, while Dorian sat directly opposite. In the middle of the meal, Larien spoke up suddenly.

\"I\'ve been thinking. What Kifi said yesterday.....\" his voice dropped to a whisper. \"Ele deted itefi Daktreme, the words my grandfather said before he died.\" Larien paused, as if uncertain.
\"....in the language of the Klyros, victory. Victory through Sacrifice.\"

Kifi smiled coyly. \"Oh, yes. Exeter, your ancestor, was quite a prophet. I was wondering when you\'d say that...\"

The rest of the group listened in stunned silence.

(ooc: I\'m thinking that even if a person dies during battle, we can think of someway to revive him or something.......)
