[DISCUSSION] House farming?

It seems that a number of people are worried about the potential for guildhouse farming.  Essentially, a guild can only own a single guild home, but a guild of alts is just as entitled to a house as any other guild.  Moreover, the rules allow for guild members to form alt-guilds for the sole purpose of bidding on houses.

This might be a problem, or it might not be a problem.  I haven't made up my mind yet.  But rather than pollute another thread, I'm creating a new topic for discussion.

Oh.  We've had threads like this before in this forum, by request of the moderators.  I thought I was going out of my way to follow the rules.  If I'm in error, please don't hesitate to move the thread.

That's really two different issues.... I think everyone knows that it's up to the GMs and dev team to decide what happens, that kind of goes without saying, the question is what effect house farming (if it happens) might have on the guild community.  Also, the devs can look at discussions like this one and take their cue from it if they see something of value.

As far as the expense of it, I can't really say, but it seems like there are some very rich guilds out there, otherwise people wouldn't be worried about the possibility of house farming.

I've heard rumor of a few guilds going for a second house and I've no doubt that some of those rumors are true.

Yes.  One rumor I heard was that at least one guild is going to attempt to buy as many houses as possible.

As I said before in the other thread we have resold a guildhouse bought with an alt guild so that person could have a house to himself, currently we work on a one guild one house ratio.

BTW These rumours, I have only heard about this in these two threads, nothing ig or irc so I'm guessing that there isnt really a problem to discuss

Ok, I will be pleased if the auctions go well and we don't have guilds owning more than one house in the end. All I meant to say was that it's better to take this warning/rumour/whatever seriously now instead of going into the trouble to hunt down the cheats later.
