I'm still a little uncomfortable with the category of "best looking girl".  There's a thin line between joking around and sexual harassment.  We've had problems here before.  I don't think the category is bad, but we should stay conscious of how our words and actions might affect others and the community.

I agree with Zanzibar and his concern, I am also glad I am not the only one who thought this after seeing the catagories. I didn't pick anyone for both best looking male or female because I didn't feel very comfortable either.  :) Good luck to all the nominees!

How is being called attractive sexual harassment? If someone doesn't want others finding them hot, then maybe they shouldn't be putting their pictures on the internet. Or going outside, for that matter.

Not like it matters. Everyone here is ugly anyway.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

I beg to refute that concern. My book is actually rather good.
You may append -looking to that last, as long as I can still read it.  :P

On second thoughts, if I posted a photo of my book now... It's rather photogenic.

Oh.  My.  God.  So if someone suffers sexual harassment (and I guess racism too), then it's their own fault because it was they who decided to go outside?

One swallow does not a summer make.
One comment does not harassment make.
Like it or not posting on the net is entirely voluntary, if you do not like the attention you receive, do not do it.
If you have self-confidence the nay-sayers cannot touch you.
Besides I'm the best looking person here and I wasn't even nominated for that category. Here is my proof:

This would not have happened if I had more participation when I asked for new categories when I first started this therefore I went with the ones that were used previously. In the case of the people who put their pictures here on this forum I think it takes guts. The pictures are here so I see nothing wrong with voting whom you think is handsome or pretty. It is a complement to them.

Parallo I respectively disagree with you that everyone here is ugly. You should take a second look at that thread.

I want the votes in so that Timmothy Perriwinkle will be happy once I post the results so you have until the 9th. If you wish to vote please do.

Yup.  That's something a creep would say to defend sexual harassment.

I apologize for going off topic, but I'm simply shocked that someone might actually defend sexual harassment.  I'm in no way trying to single Prolix out here, since he's not the only one who I think needs to be a bit more thoughtful.

Going off topic is a nuisance, even though it's so easy for people to do by accident, but I think we can all agree that sexual harassment is worse, and it is absolutely against the rules.

People do not ask to be sexually harassed.  And yes, one comment can by itself be sexual harassment.  I'm hoping that no one is actually defending sexual harassment and this has all simply been bad communication.

Sorry about that, Mathy, Zanzibar is just trolling for votes in the "breaks most forum rules" category, and sadly it appears I am giving him a run for his money.
Still I am feeling a little harassed by him now -- after only one little comment too, so he gets my vote.

I do think you have probably got as many votes as you are going to get, dragging this thing out does not help.

I agree with you Prolix though if you want your vote to count you must PM me. If everyone else agrees then this is done and I will post the results. Let me know what you think by tomorrow. It is only fair to ask you first.

Thank you,

Mathy

[Also Prolix I have found Zanzibar to be reasonable if you PM him he will do as you ask.]

I had thought it was related to the thread since it was in response to a nomination, but the OP is god.  I apologize if B. feels he was singled out for his post, it obviously wasn't my intention to hurt him.

No observer can decide what harrassment is. Only the victim. If there is any.

Some are more used to a little (self-) critical joke. Some less.

Poor Mathy must be feeling really harassed by the persistent discussion of harass definition.
Oh look! persistence is a necessary requirement for something to generally fit the definition. Who'd a thunk I knew what I was talking about.

I find societies penchant for definition creep to be most harassing, except when I am doing it, of course.

Vote for me I am god-like in my essence, write me in if I am not nominated.

Wait, I'm not an artist.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(
