Attention: All current DOX - Can you please visit the official DOX web site & email me to let me know the status of the guild?
I created the web site and provide hosting for it, as well as pay the annual fee for domain name renewal.
Even though my character, Laurianna, is no longer in the game (she does miss the DOX) I am happy to maintain the web site:

http://www.daughtersofxiosia.info

It would be lovely to update the character info pages if someone wants to give me a rundown of who is current & who is no longer in the game.

Thanks and Peace & always in honor of the Goddess,
Katie (Laurianna)

Yes this is quite a nice site, thanks for making it and maintaining it.

Since Roled is male, with the help of the DoX over a year ago, we started the SoX as a religious society. Thought those interested in the DoX might also want to know and attend our upcoming celebration of Xiosia. Thanks!

In Preparation for the coming of Xiosiamas,
the Sons of Xiosia announce a service in the Garden,
followed by a feast and dance.
All be invited!

A FESTIVAL OF SILVER LIGHTS

Threshold of Light in the darkened Dome.

Please bring food to share, and drinks, and torches
and small gifts to exchange.
Any who would like to participate in the short service, please contact Roled.

Again! All be welcome!

Hi Laurianna,

I sent you an email but wanted to reply here to let other guild members know you've been responded to.

And thanks one more time for hosting the DOX website!  \\o//  We all appreciate it.

Anyhow, what about transgendered folks?

As this is a RPing game set in the middle ages, there would be no ts/tg. Crossdressing is a possibility...
Actually, if you want a reason for there being no TS/TG in the world of PS, i can give you the best one of all:  Unlike other realms of existence, in this world, we are all born true to our inner spirit.  If we identify as female... we are.  :)

Laanx changed genders...that actually might reduce the stigma on crossdressing and identifying as another gender a bit.

More proof of Mother Xiosia's benevolent love.  Once Laanx no longer identified as female, s/he wasn't.

On a more serious note: This is actually a very complicated topic, and in reality, gender isn't as binary as we tend to think... at least from a psychological and emotional standpoint.  There are those whose brains are wired for both/neither gender(s).  In that situation, there is no physical form that truly represents who you are inside. From that standpoint, i'd say pick the form you prefer and be who you want to be.

As for an out-and-out TS, all i can say is this: people can try and RP all sorts of challenges for their characters, but this is one where... trust me, if you aren't, you can't, because you can't even begin to know what it feels like.  And if you are dealing with the hardships society places upon you for being transgender in RL, why live it again in Hydlaa, where you can create a "you" whose physical and mental aspects are in tune?

Hmmm... actually, now that i think of it, there is ONE reason:  Most TG's that aren't transitioning have lives spent in "stealth mode" out of fear of societal stigma and prejudice.  If Hydlaa was/is a place where true acceptance were possible even for "out" TG's, then RP in-world as a TG character could provide one with some personal validation.

Perhaps that's a little deeper than we wanted to go. ;)

Is there a Dermorian alphabet/script developed (Tengwar is a good example of elven alphabet)? Ps wiki mentions it, but gives no letters shapes.  Would be nice to make logos from one.

A quick search shows me no dermorian alphabets in development, just the language on ps wiki, Gilrond. I can see how coming up with letter shapes for it or any other PS race's alphabet could make for some interesting graphic designs, but I currently have no need, time, or even desire to work on such a thing at the moment. Not really sure what this has to do with DOX either, but if you want to pursue a project like this, I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

I have so much I could say...  I wish i had been here for the earlier posts, so.. a quick run thru :
DOX is , for me, a perfect and wonderful fit for RP, based on my true nature that comes across through my I G char ( after along road down the dark ).

    1. wanting to be with a gender consistent group is not sexist, nor serpratist , but fullfilling a personal need. No more.

    2. Lack of solid defined leadership is far more typical of females I have known in RL.. it actually works just fine.

    3. TG/TS  in RL I worked in a clinic where we knew hundreds of T women. My honest guess, is that there are many more in this game already that are actually behind the chars...  but who cares... I say play well and enjoy.  The fact that we dont have any dresses means that crossdressing is not gonna happen anyway. ( women can wear guys clothes all day and who notices?)  AND ultimatley, the absolute worst thing for 99% of transwomen in RL, is to be identified as male in any way... "Nice dress Dude!" is akin to hate speech.  and...
RL cases : As male-Pilot bomber to high value target, drop nuke, die with it.... later as female- went to that target as social worker, caring for the very folks "he" was trained to kill.  ///  A fighter pilot gets shot down over Bagdad, captured and thrown in jail. Later, Bomb hits jail and leaves a wall open for escape, Transperson chooses to help wounded civilians instead of running. They thanked the person and rejailed "him". Later she became her full self.
In these cases, I see the spirirt of woman inside what ever outer shell there was... I consider them as female ... it is with that attitude I would like to RP the DOX.

     4. Sons of DOX ... YOu go guys !!  maybe we can have a mixer soon.

     5. I love that we are not a guild of war, nor conflict but one of nurture and love.

     6. Lastly... Love is the most powerful af all , sure hate and jelousey and all that burn hotter and more urgently.. but our greatest tools, in love are.. Patience and Persistence.... with those, we can break the strongest of evil.

La Crank... aka iXi Veno Daughter of Xiosia    ... dancing in the Azure light

I don't think that the whole 'T' concept is... generally correct? It's a touchy subject, of which I'm not well informed, but in my opinion, if a male plays a female character, or visa versa they don't consider it as fulfilling needs or whatnot, they are just having fun by playing a game. I may just be generalizing too much.

New DOX Website URL: DOX.US.COM
« Reply #57 on: November 15, 2013, 07:01:53 am »
Wow, been a while since any new posts here but this is for any of us still around or any who might return or those who still play other non guild characters. I want to inform of a change to our guild website.

daughtersofxiosia.info will for a short time redirect to the new dox.us.com url up until that registration expires. Afterward, you will need to use dox.us.com to get to our site.

Laurianna, (Katie), graciously paid for the url registration (daughtersofxiosia.info) since 2008 even years after she no longer was playing. It's been very much appreciated. Katie recently asked fairly if someone else could take that over and I've accepted. So that no one has to deal with the hassle of transferring the domain name, the new one was registered. So, please update your bookmarks!

Hope to see everyone back for at least a peek some day to our site and PS!

On another note, I've been considering letting the forum stories and art be accessible by non guild members. Let me know your thoughts.

For what it's worth, the main sections of the DOX guild's website forum have been changed to be viewable by public.

This was decided on to add more visibility to, and hopefully create interest for players/chars. who may be considering joining DOX, and also possibly generate more interest with PlaneShift itself. Secondly, we hope sharing of the postings might be entertaining to some who play or have played.

Forum sections opened are:
General Discussions
Stories: In-game Stories, Out of Game Stories, Player Books and Stories
Art

Come visit the forum at: http://dox.us.com/index.php/forum/recent
