Buying glyphs
« on: February 24, 2009, 06:45:59 am »
ya so i am new to this game. I really dont have the time to run around the entire map looking for stuff either, as well as i got a headache looking through the search function.
I have no idea how to get to the place to buy glyphs. So far all i have been able to do is collect tria and kill stuff with my fists since i have no spells or anything :(
any help would be greatly appreciated.

You know, it's much easier to ask for directions inside the game: we don't even know which town you character is in, right now.
Besides, if you "don't have the time" to explore the game, I wonder what keeps you so busy. Fighting? Well, you could even ask someone to buy your glyph for you, for a commission.
A bit of warning though: spells are not very good for killing at low level, so far. You'd better get yourself some weapon...

we have rules about spoilers on the forum, this includes telling people where to find things. Ask around ingame and i am sure someone will show you where to find them.

http://pswiki.xordan.com/index.php/Getting_Started_In-Game lots of good non-spoiler info there.  I am guessing you have questions about more than just where to get glyphs. (combat, training, etc.)

Also you might want to check out the Bureau.  In particular this thread: http://www.yliakum.com/index.php?topic=9.0 (no spoilers allowed) (click on the "Here is an article I wrote to answer this question" link in the post by Mordaan)

if you go to Yliakum.com you will find many topics that have been helpful to tourists (what I call those new to Yliakum, sounds better than 'newbs').  A nice quick beginners site.  Hope it helps bridge the gap between being a forum expert (spending hour after hour in forum reading just about every post) and being totally new.

Hope that helps.

ok, well i am mostly around the starting town that an elf goes to. I am in the  US Army, and have a newborn at home so that is what takes up my time. i explored a little bit and found some stuff I can kill and i scan the forums while I feed the kid.
thanks for the input from those with something worthwhile to write. I didnt know this would be classified as a spoiler so my bad.
and on a side note, any time i ask people in game they ignore me. I hardly ever see anyone on though in the first place. is there a certain time that the servers are more densly populated?

Typically people will be very quiet if they're grinding a skill such as crafting or metallurgy.  You'll have more luck with people at the tavern, or other new players.
