NO, you are totally right. I ALWAYS play female roles in other games at home if possible (UT2003 for example - I play with behindview), I only chose a male in this game, as it is online, and people expect the player to be the same gender, as his character. Anyway - it is hard to roleplay the other gender than what you are.

I think THAT is the problem, when someone likes to watch the behind of a male (3rd person view) for hours - I definitely better like to watch a female - but I could be wrong too

Male here, and I totally agree with what\'s been said above, I prefer watching the back of a female character.

I have a female character in PS now, since it\'s only a test, and I really don\'t now if I\'ll choose male or female for the real game. I guess it will depend on how many females there already or in the game, if 50% of players chose female I\'ll choose male, and if there are only a few females I\'ll choose female.

About the role playing, it is indeed harder to play the opposite sex, and I\'m not a really good role player myself, but I think it\'s also part of the fun : it\'s more interesting to play a role as different as possible from what you are IRL.

Hope it\'s the first, but I think it\'s the second  ;-) But I\'m also sure there are a few girls playing male characters.

yea, i agree that as a male it\'s nicer to look at a back of a female, but in RP, i rather play a male - the characters i play are usually as i would really be if i were \"trapped\" in a world that i play them in - pretty close to my own persona

Well, I\'d heard that there were some issues with uploading characters so I decided to do what I do with most games: create a test character.

So I looked through the various avatars and carefully created a character with nice balanced stats... and sure enough it failed to upload properly. I thought righty ho, don\'t wanna lock up my name and have to send an email before I even get to play the game so I created another \"test\" character by the \"hit all and any buttons\" method... hit next, next next and it uploaded and connected. Oops, wrong gender. Oh well, it\'s a test character...

Walked around, talked to a few people, found crystals. Thought \"cool!\". Then I got kinda attached to my character, being that I\'d made a couple game-mates and had an inventory with stuff in it. So I thought what the hey, I\'ll keep it.

Short answer: I\'m male but I have an avatar of a different name that is female. Since it\'s still in pre-alpha and I couldn\'t select the avatar I really wanted I don\'t see any reason why it is a problem. In later versions I\'ll select a male avatar, not that it matters a great deal, after all role playing is all about pretending you are something you are not
