Does the Octarchy send men into the Stone Labyrinths to fight monsters? Last I checked, they all stood at BD guarding against attacks.

And it started off as 5 Kran, more mercenaries joined as they went along for the years in the Stone Labyrinths.

My question to you then is were the original guild simply five of those mercenaries or did the orctacy hire the guild? There is actually a gulf of difference.

I don't see any contradiction. The original 5 Kran made the guild and were then hired by the Octarchy to enter the Stone Labrynths and fight monsters.

Whats with the nitpicking? Anyone with a brain could see put that together from what I've said.

I can fully see the government hiring on an individual basis. Saying that the government hired the guild spesifically makes it seem as though they are some sort of A-team crack group of soldiers which was sought out by the government. Five men enter the employ of the government and form a guild together. Fine. The government hires a guild of mercenaries. Hm, doesn't sit quite as well. Makes the group seem exclusive. As though the government needed help and sought them out rather than just saying 'mercenaries wanted, sign up here', which seems to me to be what they'd do. Also, something bad about the OP's brain, jut for that wonderful thing called balance.

And really, who CARES if it seems too A-team for you. There is nothing in my script that says they were the only people sent, or that they were particularly elite. You're just presuming things.

Thanks for sharing with us your guess at what the civil government of Hydlaa would think and do but there are holes large enough in your logic for megaras to pass through. The OP's story fits like a glove, whether anyone likes it or not. I don't find any of your implicit suggestions to be useful.

Could we have a little less bickering, the OP seems fine I see no implied elitism, a small group of Mercs sign up to go into the Labyrinth and happen to call themselves a guild.
One thing to remember the Octarchy is more dictatorship than civil government and will just as easily conscript a person or guild if it deems necessary.
