The Trial of Lanfor
« on: April 08, 2009, 03:45:13 am »
Adenu died at the hands of Morsh.
Morsh died at the hands of Jinil.
Many lives have been turned upside down due to contraband potions.
But who is really responsible?

Citizens of Hydlaa, after a long and tedious investigation, it is time for Lanfor to be brought to justice. The trial is to be held in two days time [Thursday 2000 UTC]. We will hear evidence From Edeli of the guard, Jinil and citizens involved. Witnesses who were summonsed should report to the court house 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial.

The fate of Lanfor will be decided by a Jury of her peers. Jurors will be selected at random from the populace and should be impartial. If you would like to be considered for the Jury, please voice your interest here.

Anyone wishing to view the trial should also arrive at the court house near the start of the trial. Doors will open to spectators 5 minutes before the commencement of proceedings.

There is to be no talking during the trial unless called upon to do so. Anyone causing a disruption of any kind will be ejected from the court house. Any serious breaches will result in a contempt of court charge and offenders will be jailed for the duration of the trial.

[Due to the limited range of /say, we will be using the auction tab for the trial so that all may be able to read.]

[Will this be an event with open outcome? Or is the storyline fixed so that GMs will interfere OOC wise once things get out of hand like in certain other events?]

Lepohi raises his hand "As a fair and impartial citizen I would like to be considered for jury duty on this trial."

[Great job guys, can't wait for it. Will set my alarm to be there. ]

As an honest law abiding citizen, I, Sir Tolian Tyndale, would like to voice my interest to be a juror.

To clear up the time zone issue. UTC is effectively GMT 0. I used UTC and not GMT because people get confused with GMT when daylight savings has kicked in. So treat UTC as 0.

Akkaido I am utc+10.  20:00 utc Thursday is 6am Friday for me.

As for what dst does to your utc offset you will have to work that one out yourself. I live in the land of no dst.  \\o//
Beware the grue.

Thats whats got me confused, because I'm Southern Hemisphere, so my DST swings the opposite way to everyone else, so I've recently changed 2hrs difference...  :o

I'll just be up early tomorrow lol.

if you have an unix system (linux macosx bsd) or cygwin you can do date -u in your terminal to get the utc current hour
