Law?
« on: April 30, 2003, 06:39:47 am »
Just thought of this.
How much fun would it be to steal something, then evade the law?
lol

Might be a bit tricky to put in, but it will be cool. It could even open some jobs to earn money..................... :D

While were on the topic of evasion etc, how about flexibility and ability to climb, or run faster to get away from officers or people after you.
i\'m on a roll  :D

Hmm... Guilds could act as law for certain areas... That would be interesting, a \"handcuff\" feature where your able to arrest someone, who is then put through a judicial system....

the handcuff idea sounds good.

while we\'re at breaking the law ...in order to break it, there has to be some law!!! ...sooooo, any idea what to put in it not to make it too big or annoying?

the ability to steal things from others seems kinda unplaneshiftian.  I mean, you can\'t kill people without their consent, so why be able to steal their stuff? It seems the PS universe itself is the law enforcement by making it impossible to do anything wrong.

Stealing from NPCs. And NPC word would get around in the town, and then when a persons stolen from say, three places in a city, the NPCs somehow would tell the local guild.

I like this idea. unning from the cops. Mayb also if you get caught, you can pay them to clear your record. And also, What would happen if you\'re arrested?

Well, arrests etc have been discussed before, but I foget what they agreed on in the end. But people wouldnt want to sit around in jail, etc. So they\'d either be executed if caught, fined, or put through a portal to some very hard area.

That would depend a bit on how the spawning/dropping of items was implemented. If a hard area/hard monsters generally means better items are dropped/spawned you\'d want to avoid sending people there.

After all, you wouldn\'t want a convicted criminal coming back out of dungeon exile with some megacool items (provided he survived of course). People\'d stand in line to get arrested... ;)

the arrest could be solved in a way that they get temporarily banned from servers ...well for pretty big crimes that is ...in other cases fines (in money or in items they own) would be ok, yea

maybe that very hard area could have monsters that don\'t have items upon themselves. but i see a different problem here (as well as the jail idea): spawning would have to be limited in that area, plus in areas with hard monsters if (s)he would survive, (s)he\'d pretty much gain exp.
