How can I check my server?
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:05:31 pm »
I've heard tell of both an RP and non-RP server for players. Perhaps I'm hearing wrong, perhaps I'm misunderstanding what a server is, but is there a way I can check which I am on?

The RP seems... near nonexistent where I am. :(

Unless you have explicitly changed your config files to connect you to ezpcusa, you are on laanx - the rp server.

Try wandering into populated areas - like hydlaa ( keep your weapons sheathed )

Edit your character description ( you can do thing from the stats/skills tab  ) putting in an original description ...
(  It helps if you include something that others can ask you about .
for example, say that you have a curious looking scar, or amulet... )

Check out this post  http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=32766.0

Try talking as you do things... others may do the same... leading to IC conversation...

/me grumbles while repairing his old beaten sword

Try reading other char's description and dropping questions..
* Rigwyn looks to at the dwarf to the left and points to his neck, "Eh.. what that your wearing, an amulet ?"

If all else fails try this

/shout   [ hey, does anyone here RP ?  ]      ;D

Good luck.

The default server is the RP server, laanx.fragnetics.com.  The non-RP server is planeshift.ezpcusa.com.

When you open the client you will see both in the list.  That is how you know which you are connecting to.

However, as a game still in development, the community is not that large, and there are times and places when RP is very prevalent, and times and places where that is not always the case.

If you are looking for more RP, my suggestion would be to find players and try to start up some RP, or perhaps join a guild.
http://caamasi-disciples.com - A SW:TOR Republic guild focused on casual players who want to play "the Good Guy."

I'm not looking for -heavy- RP... rather I was looking for somebody who would act in an IC fashion. Probably should have clarified that. Thank you both for all your help.

Another question; is repeated OOC in an IC setting (talking to characters, doing things that a character in this setting would'nt do, ect) reportable? Or is temporary lapses and people not being IC simply something I'd have to deal with?

I think technically it is something you could report, if it's repeated a lot, and they won't stop after you politely ask them... however the GM team probably has more important reports to deal with.  Not an official answer, maybe not even a correct answer, but I would guess they may send the OOC player a tell explaining that they should stay IC in the future.  Beyond that I doubt they'll do much about the report, but I've been wrong before.
Censorship FTW.
