Fun games?
« on: April 22, 2009, 05:47:00 pm »
Has anyone found any good games that they would like to share with us?.. (putting planeshift here doesnt count)

I found a rather good game yesterday that combines an RPG style storyline with RTS action and a CCG element (the units you can use are all on cards that can be traded and auctioned to other players. allowing you to customize the units available in your army before you start)

I found this:

http://www.hybridrealms.net/Home.php?id=Guide

It does have adult content so I would not recommend it for young people. The players there really know how to role play. I was impressed greatly.

Not a roleplaying game at all, but if you like first person shooters there are already 8 or 10 planeshift players that play Enemy Territory, on our server (sxealex.com).
Censorship FTW.

As far as I know, this is one of the only flash games that is technically a browser based MMO with full online multiplayer.

http://s1deadfrontier.net/refer.php?ID=296416&SERVER=s1deadfrontier.net

That's actually a referral link so that if you play to lvl 10 I get $1000 ;)

The game is a little grindey - but the combat-action-horror style gameplay is really fun nevertheless. Think about what would happen if you started with Runescape and then changed the game into Resident Evil.

EDIT: Also, if you're the kind that doesn't mind paying for games, I highly reccomend UT3/CS:S/Orange Box/Garry's Mod off Steam

There is an alternative, more probable theory that 9/11 was in fact caused by Hanson's 1997 smash hit 'MMMBop.'

Adventure Quest.  Flash based, single player with some minor other player type stuff thrown in.   I like it as it has many humorous geek type jokes thrown in and its one of those games that you can play it for 5 minutes and then turn it off or go do other things types of games.  My favorite type of game when you need something to do for a short period of time while you're waiting at work for a report to finish compiling or what not.

Character never gets deleted; I made one 4 years ago, and hadn't touched in over 2 years until just recently and it pulled it right up right where I left off.   They make money by offering people to give them a one time payment to upgrade their account to a 'guardian' level type thing that allows their characters to go to special places and get better items, but it's completely playable without paying them.  Back when I first made an account it was when they were first starting out and the guardian account was a simple paypal 5 dollar transfer, so I got it and it was worth it for all the content and little perks that it gave me over the years and will continue to give me as again, it was a 'good for life' type of deal.  I'd imagine nowadays that it is probably a bit more since it seems they are decently popular now, but like I said, the game's completely playable and enjoyable without it as well.

As far as I know, this is one of the only flash games that is technically a browser based MMO with full online multiplayer.

The same game as I described above also has a MMO version.  Pretty sure its based on Flash, but I've never played it.

I have been playing Team Fortress 2 a lot recently. Its so much fun. Ok yeah you have to get used to being killed over and over again.. But the crazyness of it just makes me laugh.

Just watch that Video and it will make you laugh. The game itself can be bought of Steam (VALVE's "Digital Distribution Service") Or as part of The Orange Box from retail stores (Orange Box has Half Life 2, 2.1, 2.2 and Portal aswell as TF2)

Team Fortress 2 FTW!

When i'm not scheming to kill things cleverly, i scheme to kill things in the most blunt way possible. By shooting, stabbing or burning. But thats not enough; i am also a man (boy?) of comedy. :innocent:

If you want to kill things and laugh you [large, lower muscular group] off, then there if only one way to go:

Team Fortress 2  \\o//

There is nothing, NOTHING, more satisfying than pinning a man resembling a shaved bare to a lamp post with an arrow from 500 yards away  ;D

You have the Huntsman?....

I hate you...
all i got was 4 flipping Jarates and the Razorback....

I still need the Dead Ringer aswell.. i got the Ambassador and Cloak and Dagger, I quite liked that unlock system to be fair.

Got lots of things for classes i would have never got all the achievments for... eg.. Medic and Scout.

Team Fortress 2 FTW!
