Now Accepting Donations

Under the direction of Vigesimi Davikel Iramok, the Stonehead Tavern will now be set up to serve free meals to all as a public service. This venture has been put into my hands to set up, run and see that the public is well served. As such, I feel that the first order of business is to gather food. Since this is a public service, I feel that the community should be involved. I now call on the people of the Dome to send in food as a donation to the Tavern in support of this wonderful service of the Vigesimi. As this program will be open to all residents of the Dome, it will be fitting that all work to support it.

The food drive is merely the first step in setting up the tavern to service. Much will also be needed by way of staff. There will be a need for servers, bartenders, Cooks, People to clear the tables, and guards to keep the order. Again I call on the inhabitants of the Dome to lend their support to this Venture.

May all those who dwell upon the Dome contribute generously, benefit richly, and may the set up go speedily.

Davikel Iramok makes kras way down to the Stonehead Tavern, intent on speaking with the young lass kra had appointed as the current manager for the tavern. Shaking kras head Davikel had to smile, never had the thought occurred to kra  that someone would be enchanting and skilled enough to step into a role long vacant.  Turning the corner of the entrance kra views Illysia hard at work rearranging kegs and other various sundries behind the bar, her attention fully focused to the task at hand. Not wanting to interrupt, Davikel slowly backs out of the tavern and decides to seek out Tyrus...maybe a new song would be in order....a ballad....to a successful venture set in motion.

Each day, more and more people wander into the Stonehead. Much laughter and food go around as old friends sit and chat over an ale. The sound of dice can be heard as well as people take time out of their busy days sit by the fire and play games. Come, eat your fill and leave happy.

[Crick Bargo]

Crick can still taste the cinnamon on his whiskers. Contentedly he settles deeper into the seat cushion and pulls out an old notebook:

I crave morning bread in the afternoon/
In a cinnamon dusted stone castle/
Where good conversation is served with great food/
And a man can feel rich though only a vassal/

With a stomach full of inspiration, Crick keeps scratching away in his notebook, an ode to The Stonehead Tavern and its pleasant new management flowing from his pen.

[Minks]

Minks licks her spoon and smiles contentedly. Yes, the Clacker Stew came out pretty good
this time. She puts her still steaming donation on the counter with a little note for Illysia:
"Please accept my humble donation for the great work you do here. Minks."

[I had no blank book, so no ingame-note, I'm afraid. But real food.]

[Elady]

Elady comes in and finds the Clacker stew and wonders where she can hide it so Illysia doesn't find it. Elady  knows how ill Illysia gets at thinking about foods that include anything from clackers and trepors. Elady wonders bout putting up a sign warning people not to leave donations made from clacker and trep parts.

[Oomi]

A small figure in a hunter green cloak moves quietly to a darkened alcove and looks out over the tavern. The watcher sniffs the air a bit, nods, then settles back against the cool stone. Occasionally, one leather-shod foot can be seen tapping gently to the beat of a patron's tune.

Whenever Solita Desolo took a shift, it was a quiet one. Hardly anyone appeared (except for a young apprentice asking to become a waiter). But always the next days, something changed: One day someone had brought food donations [Thanks Minks!], another day someone had brought a new welcoming desk [Thanks Dajoji!]. She may always have a quiet shift, but she can see that the tavern develops.

 [It is developing well in the short time that it has existed. The four new (OSP) Player areas are still all developing in infancy. It will take time and some consistency of the players involved to generate the general interests. Even still, not every day or shift will always be exciting. People have seen and do see the hard work you all are doing there and in the other areas. Great job everyone! Enjoy the UP times and relax during the down time. I'll be happy to stop by more often when I am in the area. Keep up the effort. You are all doing a wonderful job there]

[Ok, first I would like to say thank you to everybody who has supported the Stonehead operation so far, especially my staff. I have had decent interest from players about working at the tavern. Also, there have been some days where we had a nice stream of people throughout the day. Stuff like this makes it worth the effort it takes to organize the running of the tavern.

However, I really do need more support, and not just people working at the tavern. I'm calling on RPers. Like all those RPers out there that fuss about Kada's being too full of bad behavior to have decent RP, and the RPers that feel good RP has left the game.

I can stand around all day in the tavern and technically I have done my job and run the tavern. This however is not what I took on running the tavern for. I did it to create a good RP environment for the game, a place to have fun.

At times the tavern is full and bustling and I love it when it is like that. Other times it is empty for hours on end and that can be really discouraging as that is time that could be spent elsewhere. 

Please, if you want to RP, come take a trip out to Gugrontid. It is a nice relaxing break from the bustle of Hydlaa, and even if there is no one serving go sit by the fire or lounge on the pillows and talk with friends. The RP for the Stonehead is not strictly limited to being a restaurant. It is more a place to be regardless of why you wandered in there. Even before Kada’s had Allelia behind the bar, people enjoyed just hanging around the tavern and talking with friends over a beer. Why not do the same at the Stonehead.

It should be a good relaxed atmosphere for RP and if people come and make trouble at the tavern I will not hesitate to act on it. I will not tolerate a lot of the foolishness that goes on at Kada’s nowadays. There will be no dueling, period. I don’t care what skill your character has in anything. It will not be tolerated. RPed disruptions will be tolerated a bit but if you are asked to stop the RP because it has gotten too disruptive or inappropriate, I expect you to cooperate. I will not be ruling the tavern with a heavy hand or anything but I want people to understand that it is watched for these kinds of things and they will be dealt with. And in the event it is something I can’t get under control myself, I will not hesitate to call the GMs. The tavern is supposed to be fun for RP, not for OOC foolishness.

Now this doesn’t mean that I only want experienced RPers at the tavern and that I will attempt to smite anyone using brackets. I very much want people who aren’t comfortable with their RPing abilites, people who don’t know how to RP, people who don’t RP often, and people who really want to improve their RP to come. I am very tolerant of different levels of RPers and I enjoy having everybody around. I will even take the time to teach people how to RP and answer any questions you may have about RPing. I just want constant RP at the tavern.

After having said all that…. Stop reading the forum and come to the Stonehead tavern!  ]

It seems that we have come to have a regular little kikiri guest here at the Stonehead Tavern. Since it has been so faithful about staying around the tavern, we have decided to make it the mascot of the tavern. As such, our little kikiri needs a name, so we are having a naming contest. The way we wish to have it work is that people come to the tavern and after ordering they can suggest a name for our kikiri. None of us are kikiri experts and we don’t know for sure the gender, so names for both genders are welcome.

Once we have gotten enough names, then we will choose several of the names and put it to a vote. People can then come back and vote for their favorite name, the more people return the tavern, the more votes they can gather for their favorite name. At the end of the contest period we will announce the new name of our kikiri. Please, come and help us find a name.


[Note to Players: The contest will run from today through Aug 8. From July 22 to July 29, you can suggest a name. From July 30th to Aug 8th you can vote on the name of your choice. Feel free to stop by and come see the kikiri for yourself, please do not attack it. Once a name is chosen, all final prizes will be decided on.]

[Note to Stonehead Staff: Please make an effort to spend some time in the Stonehead so people can participate in this event. Regardless of what your position is, you can still serve drinks to people which would allow them to suggest a name. If you don’t know where the drinks are, Send me a PM on the forum or contact me in game. Please keep note of all the names that are suggested and who suggested it while you are working a shift at the tavern then send them to me in a PM on the forum or contact me in game.]
