Ok, I will be taking over the Stonehead and turning it into a working restaurant over the course of this summer. I fully intend to RP aspects of this event as much as possible. For now I will only be doing the set up for at least as long as there are issues with crafting book content. However I plan to gather food, and hire staff, and RP training during the time it takes for the books to get resolved.
That being said, for the gathering food portion, anything will do and it doesn’t have to be in large portions. For this part, it’s the thought that counts. I only ask that you RP, as best you can, the donation, even if you don’t actually have food items to turn in. As I can’t cover all time zones I full expect to have some of the donations be done either in the official event thread or through PMs. What really matters is getting people involved.

For the hiring, it’s basically the same deal. I want people to RP it and since I can’t cover every timezone I will have to get applications through PMs. Because I intend to have the restaurant up and running during as much of the day as possible, preference for hiring will go to individuals in different time zones. As operations expand, I hope to have lots of people working at the tavern. For now, a head cook and at least one assistant cook will be good to start with. Not that I expected that I will always have people on for every waking moment, but I have to delegate some how.

The main thing is that each head chef will be responsible for organizing things during the time they are on. i.e. making sure people get served..
For most other staff, it will be simple. Servers will take orders, relay them to the cooks, and take the completed dishes back to the diners same applies to drinks. Bartenders will tend the bar. :p They will be in charge of drinks and making sure that people’s throats don’t dry out but also that they don’t get so drunk they are a danger to themselves and others

. If you want, you can get fancy and maybe even invent your own drinks list and RP making the drinks. I may eventually include a special drink menu should there be a call for it.

for people who clear tables, it should be pretty obvious, As things progress I may eventually have a dishwashing set up. The tricky job will be that of the tavern guards.
The way in which the other jobs will be handled will not be as closely watch as the guard jobs. As it will be easy to abuse the position, there will be zero tolerance for harassment. I can’t have the whole thing blown to pieces by some people getting power hungry. If it gets too bad, I will report people to the GMs and if necessary scrap the idea entirely. I truly hope this doesn’t happen, If nothing else, this could be chance to prove to GMs and Devs that players can handle the role but keep in mind that the reverse is also true. If RPed properly, it could be a very fun experience and could restore the citizen’s confidence in guards.

Some basic ground rules for being a guard: 1) No harassment. I shouldn’t have to outline this problem by problem, but use common sense. Don’t go around pestering characters or using the time you are on duty to harass characters you have an issue with. There will eventually be official restaurant conduct rules and those will be the basis for the guards taking action. 2) No godmodding. Just because you are now a guard that doesn’t mean that you now haz teh uber pwnage… This isn’t WoW, be reasonable… No calling down meteors, overly fancy magic spells, or epically pwning smackdowns… It is perfectly possible that a guard might be outmatched and such a thing might even be the subject of an RP one day (don’t count on it happening often). Just be reasonable…. 3) If you are on duty, no drinking allowed. :p Otherwise, have fun. It’s not meant to be a stiff and inflexible role but I don’t want the antics of a few ruining things for everybody.
As things progress I will give out more information on the next stages. This is meant to be fun so have fun with it.
