'What makes me steam' suggestion guide
« on: June 07, 2009, 09:44:30 pm »
I have started a thread where people can write what other people do on the game, that really makes them mad, where maybe people who view this thread will see, if they have done any of these things.

What makes me steam: descriptions thst start with: 'At first you notice', 'you have heard', 'you feel', 'you are intimidated', etc. No, no I'm not, I just think your a noob, and I really HAVN'T heard any tales about you, maybe my character his blind, I don't notice anythign about you. I'm max stats along with max HA and Sword, so why would I be intimidated by you (not that I am). This is in a way, a failed attempt to godmode somebody without even having to try, please think twice before putting something like this in your desc. :)

annoying but that I can just ignore. What really annoys me however if a description reads like a lifestory where I have to dig through just to see if he has a logo of his guild on his shoulder or not.

I mean someone walks in and I dont mind if you say he has a mischievous aura or a dark one but please first do mention your appearance and if you have to put your whole lifestory in the description do it after that so I'm not forced to basicly ignore your description or spend ten minutes reading it.

PS: Always open for suggestions so if you read my description and have a thought feedback is welcome :)

Hi Joale!

I understand that you have started this thread so everyone can benefit from it but be prepared for this to get out of hand. It's easy blaming the others anyway. Which is harder is to look at yourself and improve what you can. Whoever wants to move the world, first move themselves.

I'm getting tired of people using scripts to "bot" mine.  I play on the non-rp server, and I've seen a few people doing it to mine.  and yet others use it to kill...  I'm thinking its the same person using 2 accounts and 2 computers so that his main guy can get the PPs and his alt will get him the Trias.  Pretty weak dude.

Instead of getting heated about it just relax and read it less literally, instead of 'At first you notice' read it as "At first you may notice" as you may be blind but have you also lost your sense of smell/hearing/touch? "you mighthave heard", "you may feel", "you could feel intimidated (if lower stats).

If you make allowances for the way others play then you'll find them much more willing to make allowances for you and this game would be so much more enjoyable for all

When people take the "no drawn weapons in Hydlaa" rule way to seriously and will follow you around yelling at you like a noob, even if your just passing through.

It really makes me steam when people come up and insult or taunt you repeatedly, and completely refuse any sort of IC consequences, like being stabbed in the face.

Once time a guy started shouting about Vannaka being a coward and a thief, and then declined a /challenge and reported me for trying to roleplay a fight, saying it was harassment...  It actually made me laugh pretty hard, but still somehow made me angry at the same time  ???

Even "passing through" your weapons should be up.

"hey i know the sign on the door said no guns allowed here, but don't worry, I'm only passing through and will be gone shortly so don't mind me carrying this big old shotgun around. just continue to go on your daily routines and don't pay any attention to me and my large gun standing right by you."

to give a more real world type scenario.

Give him some slack; he could've meant EZ-PC, where the sign on the door says something completely different.

unless specifically stated otherwise, all discussion of RP etiquette should be considered to be discussed on the main fragnetics server, since that is the server is the RP server.

hmm had something annoying happen.

I walked into the treporpit that has five trepors and wanted to train seeing the NPCserver ws actually up for a change hehe ;)

Trepors were all alive so I felt I was in luck. Apparently someone else was already in the far right corner that I missed seeing three kills later I saw someone magicing "my" fourth trepor to death. "Darn it" I thought but ahh well not like it happens often that you get the treporpit all to yourself (more now with fewer people ofcourse but still :P). So I went back and made sure to leave atleast two trepors free for him.

Then he started trying to kill the trepor I was standing next to eventhough one of the trepors I didn't touch was still alive. Now mind you this isn't the irritating part. Well ofcourse I went like wtf in myself but if he wants a competition for the third trepor or something it was his good right in my eyes. In theory it is even his right to try and get them all but that doesn't seem like the civil solution.

The truely irritating part started when he challenged me to a duel still haven't said anything neither in tell nor in main and after I declined he send me a tell that I had no honor that it was a comon unwritten rule that if someone else was in the pit noone else should be there and said i had to be a complete newb for not knowing this.

Well even if this is true (seeing i never heard of such a rule nor experienced other people leaving when I'm first) it is not all to smart in my eyes to start a conversation that way.

So I told him I had heard of no such rule nor ever experienced it and that I really wasn't a newb and did't apreciate being called that but was still willing to be polite about it and share. He didn't reply but suddenly there came a guildmate of his and after a while a third a fourth and even a fifth all trying to make sure I got no trepors at all.

One of the few times I was happy to be majorly dagger.

But yeah I find it irritating when someone starts acusing you of doing something wrong and calling you a newb and all without first having a normal conversation and then trying to bully you by numbers if you don't comply.

Thanks to all for reading this rant.;)
Just writing it here to get it of my chest and be done with it. ;)

Nobody owns an NPC spawn point, and nobody owns any attackable NPC unless they have already engaged it in combat!

Taking an NPC from someone when they have already started any form of combat is considered kill-stealing and will be punishable by GMs through warnings, and then further actions if the player continues.

Competing for an NPC is not against the rules but doing so with the intention of causing grief to others can constitute a form of harassment and, if such intention is proven true, subject to sanction.

Not following any of these rules is liable to official actions stated in the Game Sanctions.

Call a GM next time something like this happens. I'd still like to know who was it you had this experience with and which guild they belong to so we can have a word. PM me your logs or look for us on -gmtalk.

I find it annoying when players think they can "teach" each other a "lesson". That never accomplishes anything and it's usually twice the work for us to clean up. This "I'll show him/her who's boss" will only translate to "I'll show him/her a good way to get banned". Sheesh...
