[GUILD] Chaos of The Fallen
« on: June 17, 2009, 08:53:47 am »
Overview
We are those that are cast out, we are the underdogs, we are the fallen. We are those that Yliakum turned it's back on, and we want revenge. We follow no laws, we are puppets no more, we serve only chaos. Chaos is a fair yet ruthless master, and demands only that we fight all that is Orderly and lawful.

Mission
To seize unbalance in Yliakum and forge it to our will and force it to our bidding. We currently are waiting for the coming eclipse to cause mayhem beyond measure. We wish to create an army of the criminally insane, the followers of the Black Flame, The evil masterminds, the psychotic mages, and the Hell-minded Mass Murderers! A legion of the uncontrollable might of chaos! Things to come include; Guild wars, Guild Roleplay, Secret Guild Meetings, Guild House (hopefully), and other fun stuff.

Slogan
In order to truly understand our guild you must understand our mantra; Parallel Chaos. Let's break it down, Parallel means to be aligned, to be equal, to be moving in the same direction. Chaos means pandaemonium, causing of mischief and madness. When you put the two together it becomes apparent what separates us from every other chaos guild. Individually we might each be a uncontrollable force, but moving in unison with a solid purpose and goal in mind, we become much more. As Acenere himself once said "We are many sparks moving towards the fire."

Alliance
Our Alliance is named Project Mayhem, any fellow guilds who wish to join in the dissonance are more than welcome to join.

Ranks
Doomsayer
  • The undisputed leader of the guild, only those who speak to Chaos can hold this rank.
Disciple of Mayhem
  • These are the few the Prophet has chosen to carry out his bidding, their missions are of the utmost secrecy and importance.
Fist of Maelstrom
  • The five fingers of the Fist of Maelstrom are the five commanders who are powerful enough to wield chaos's wrath, and enforce the guild.
Zealot of Blood
  • These are the masters of Warfare, highly experienced in combat and fearless even of death.
Acolyte of Flame
  • These are the masters of The Red Way, capable of wielding fire and chaos with their minds.
Servant of Insanity
  • These are the taskmasters of the guild, spies, merchants, and guards are all members of this rank.
Slave to Darkness
  • These are the artisans of the guild, they are the backbone, and without them the guild would be weak.
Mongrel
  • One who has shown promise and potential but has not yet chosen their place in the guild, their tasks are simple and include recruiting and training.
Cretin
  • These are the cannon fodder in the guild, they are expendable labor and fighters.

Infrastructure
Everybody starts out as a cretin, no matter how strong you are. In order to advance to mongrel you need at least 20 guild points. The most basic way to earn points is recruiting and training. 5 points for recruiting someone, and 10 points awarded for earning 10 levels in metallurgy, blacksmithing, cooking, baking, mining, red, dark, brown, or azure way, and any combination of combat and armor skills. To advance further one must clearly state to the guild when a ranking officer is present what they want their specialization to be. A specialization rank is awarded when a mongrel has stated his/her choice and is at least level 30 in said skill (any listed above). It is pretty self explanatory, 30 levels in any form of magic will make you a Acolyte of Flame, 30 levels in combat/armor skills will make you Zealot of Blood, 30 levels in any craft will make you a Slave to Darkness, and the rank of Servant of Insanity is awarded for special services which one has proven themselves in. these last four ranks are all equal, none of them are higher than any other. To achieve the powerful rank of Fist of Maelstrom, one must challenge and defeat one of the current fingers to a duel, this must be a public spectacle, and must be observed by a ranking officer to ensure fairness. The rank of Disciple of Mayhem is forbidden, and can only be granted with the blessing of the Doomsayer.

History
In the ancient days of Yliakum there lived a simple Diaboli named Acenere Gossotau, he lived a normal life for many years. Until in his old age he was visited by a presence, a voice in his mind and a shadow in his eyes; The Spirit of Chaos Incarnate. Chaos was not like Laanx, Talad, or even Dakkru, he was not a god, but something else, a spirit? was it simply the physical incarnation of the concept of chaos and the red way? Or was it simply a old lunatics halucination, no one really knows. The spirit spoke to Acenere and told him of it's ways, how it never judged and never yielded, but inflicted punishment or granted pleasure upon anyone at random. Acenere was deeply touched by Chaos's ways, such power and yet no control over it whatsoever, the ability to cover the world in darkness with so much as a whim. The spirit commanded Acenere to learn the red way for that was the way of chaos, and would allow him to channel the spirits energies and in exchange he would be granted immortality. And so it was that Acenere became the first Disciple of Chaos, and went out to spread what he had learned, but he was shunned, considered insane and banished for his beliefs. He became a wandering hermit, traveling the farthest reaches of the dome and sitting atop the highest mountains meditating to better understand his masters ways. Hundreds of years past, but finally one who had heard legends of the Chaos Prophet sought him out, he was a young Kran by the name of Rikihim Frostblood, he was cold and calculated in action and speech, this bothered Acenere greatly for it was not the way of chaos but neither was it the way of order. So Acenere confided with his master about how he wished to take the stone warrior under his wing, and so it was that Chaos blessed Rikihim with the gift of Seizures; fits of madness that would make him a perfect bringer of chaos. Yet Rikihim was not satisfied with the lonely wandering of Acenere so he went back to civilization and gathered those who where shunned by society and created a guild named Chaos of the Fallen, to follow in Acenere's footsteps and learn to love and respect the brutal way of Chaos.

Rules
Ha I bet you thought they wouldn't exist in a guild such as this. Well sorry we may be evil but we do have a code of conduct. First and Foremost, be polite or at least respectful, take a lesson from your leader; Rikihim, he wouldn't be caught dead running about challenging every man, woman, and child to a duel, and screaming "for the guild!" All that really does is give the guild a bad name, and none of us want that. Never spam, never speak badly of the guild, and never ever do something which would show badly upon the guild. It is one thing to walk around cackling madly, breaking the laws, and playing the evil one in roleplay, but to actively and deliberately make other's gaming experience unpleasant, is just plain stupid. Other important rules include, never take advantage of noobs, always speak of the guild in proper roleplay when outside the guild chat, and never duel without proper reason and explanation.
Breaking any rule will result in a warning, followed by stripping of points and rank, and if rule breaking persists, removal from the guild.

Joining
Simply send a tell to any of these high ranking members to request an invite;
Acenere
Rikihim
Magaar
Brunoo

I don't mean to seem personally spiteful or resentful, but how many 'chaotic' guilds do we already have?

There's Nexus of Devotion, Prophets of Chaos, The Dark Warmongers. I think Spirits of Fire are also 'chaotic'.

While you have a nicer presentation than I've seen from the aforementioned guilds' threads, I don't see it as anything new and interesting.

Nexus of Devotion is a selfproclaimed light in the darkness so no wouldn't call them chaotic. ;)

Have to say though the first line had me thinking of the outlaws. Anyhow the presentation is indeed better but I really wonder how much potentail such a guild has

How many massmurderers do we really have? And massmurderers and evil masterminds aren't really known for their need to cooperate together.

Do you plan to roleplay the joining of people?

Ausuna laughs and waves her hands in disgust, her heart all at contemplating the slaying of chaos members.

Ausuna grins, "This is a new opportunity for doing the right thing, come!"
"If you're not 100 percent with us, not 100 percent supportive no matter what, you're a threat, your being nice is even a bigger threat."

Ausuna sighs and slowly turns away.

It may have potential, but this guild will definitely attract many people who do nothing more than run around /challenging and shouting OOC obscenities.

Prophets of Chaos, The Dark Warmongers. I think Spirits of Fire are also 'chaotic'.

And out of those guilds how many do much? I think they mainly all get trapped at the same stage.

If you want this guild to be more than just a bunch of guys with fancy sound titles like "Fist of Deception" I advise you take what everyone has mentioned here to mind and work on this:

To seize unbalance in Yliakum and forge it to our will and force it to our bidding.

It's your goal right? Using the power of Chaos to recreate the world of Yliakum, making it your own. Doesn't sound all that bad, could actually be really interesting, but you've got to watch the way you want to do things. Make sure you've got a plan, more than just 'we will collect evil people and wait for the Eclipse to make chaos.' That sounds like maybe, the final stage, the last ultimate goal. What do you do until then? Recruit and level? I think that is where a lot of guilds fall off.

Take it step by step. Maybe you'll need to fuel your war machine so you get yourself thieves to rob weapons away and make a wealth in arms? Maybe you need to gather dark mages to your guild (seeing as you shoot for the Eclipse?) to join you. Yliakum doesn't just 'fall' because you have a the biggest guild on Planeshift with the self proclaimed baddest of the bunch. Don't get trapped at the stage other guilds do because they didn't think things through.

All and all, good luck.

They're still chaotic by general description. They don't follow the laws etc.

Most players list them as a chaotic guild.

I also notice that in the History Chaos is referred to like some sort of god. This isn't Warhammer.

I did my best to correct any issues you may have suggested. I take all criticism to heart and will try and use it to make this a better guild, thanks everyone for the points, keep them coming.

Erm, best of luck with the guild for sure man.
I stopped cold turkey reading though when I saw the first rank.. "Prophet of Chaos".
No offense to you at all and you may now know this, but I as an RPer ignore anyone from the guild "Prophet of Chaos" because of their intense OOC meandering. My advice to you, is, to avoid going to their level, be VERY careful what you RP doing, even if it is 'chaotic' or not. Do not act upon OOC info, etc.

Like Duraza said, create a plan and a will to get to your goal. A goal without the stages in between is basically just that: An unattainable dream.

My last words? Watch out for trolls

Best of luck.

Looks much better than the first post (though there is always room for improvement!). I'm truly glad you looked at our comments and started working right away. That shows some dedication on your part.

Hrm...Maybe after my current plot is done I can see if I have a character that would fit in?  ;)

Apart from the fact that it is yet another 'Chaos' guild, I like that it is clear-cut and well-planned OOC.

You have it in place that you don't want the same OOC problems we've had in the past from PoC and other chaotic guilds.

A true RP Chaos guild, well, I am interested.

Good luck with your guild.

Oh, and if you try any of your Chaos stuff in or around Ojaveda, the Kore Irka Clan will be happy to oppose you. We are a guild of Order, and all the things you hate IC, so I look forward to some IC friction and a few fights maybe.

The members responsible for the OOC left the guild. Problem resolved. But yes Vvallace is a thorn in our side.

fyi, people stop calling em the OOc person, i left cause i wanted to.
same with tara, two things
one, getting gp for training seems like a bad idea to me, gp i think should be a representation of how they help the guild, training is separate IMO.
also i think PG will wage war on CotF hum...

-.-...

Really, guys, quit making powerleveling guilds. Despite how much you claim you roleplay, there's still the out of character silliness that's seen in Prophets of Chaos and plenty of other guild. Go join one of those... quit wasting your money and attracting even more new players into the same bad habits.
