What to choose?
« on: August 26, 2009, 12:56:05 pm »
Hey ppl,

As I'm downloading the game, I've been looking at some of the classes, and I need some input. What exactly do all the stats do? I mean does END increase defence or w/e? Also, I want to know whether or not there's a class that has some wickid strong AoE skills, for PvE. And, I love a nice bit of AGI for speed and evasion to play with usually, so what class would suit me? I've checked the Nolthrir for some kickass magic skills with the agi, or Enkidukai with the high agi. Would these be good choices, i mean do they even have aoe skills?

Also, should i keep myself to a strict stat distribution on every lvl?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
PlaneShift is totally skill based, there are no classes or levels. For the character attributes, look for
example here. (The player guide should also be included in your installation.)

As far as I know all races are equal - so a dwarf's stats will not differ from a kran's. Both can be just as strong/fast/magical etc...

I think the easiest way to get good starting stats is to use the quick setup feature. Click on each character type ( rogue, wizard, monk etc..) And see what the character's strengths are ( at bottom of screen )

Unlike some other games there are no character classes..you will gain strength in whatever areas you choose to train.

There is a link to the player guide off www.planeshift.it that discusses stats and other things.

My personal preference is to start off with a character high in strength and endurance (ie. Knight) and then start training from there.

Good luck.

Actually, the starting attributes (Strenght, Intelligence, Agility....) are different for the races.
(But can all be trained to the same maximum values.)
Just the special race abilities mentionied in the player guide are not implemented yet.

Honestly, just choose something that will be fun to play. I recommend  choosing  a race that feels like a good fit for the RP that you want to play. The great thing about PS is that you don't need stats to have a good RP. Start simple. Have a personality worked out, then work off of that. Just choose something that fits you.
