[Unknown if this illness is related to what has a happened recently. Korenis Cheshire's whereabouts have been unknown for some weeks; he originally set out to the stone labyrinths. We do not know where is travels took him between leaving the guildhouse and returning to the guildhouse. He did not appear to be ill upon first arriving back home.]
Emmara returned from practicing her magic and crossed paths with Korenis at the guildhouse. He was lethargic and unfocused to his surroundings, he brushed past and only grunted at Emmara. Realizing this was not Korenis' usual behavior she turned to catch up with him. He passed out at her feet. To Emmara's horror he vomited blood onto the street and his nose began to bleed. Emmara was stunned but managed to call for Atagal's assistance to get Korenis back into the guild house. She was afraid that a passerby would think Korenis had the enkidukai plague.
Once inside they laid him on an ulbernaught fur and tried to decide how to help him. Emmara was frantic as she watched Korenis try to fight to stay conscious and continued to cough up blood. He was growing weaker by the moment, there was no help near enough to Ojaveda to be of use, and this was beyond her skill level to cure with crystal way. Atagal suggested sending him to Death Realm to avoid the eternal sleep, as it appeared that is where this mysterious illness was quickly taking him. Emmara shouldered the responsibility and drew a dagger from its sheath. She hesitated, if they were wrong and he did not have enough life left to be accepted into Death Realm, then she will have killed a dear friend. Korenis weakly tried to pull the dagger to him. Leaning close to his ear Emmara whispered, "I'm sorry." The dagger easily slid through fur and hide. The steel blade was barely slowed by the strong muscles of his chest. Korenis' heart was stilled by the cold blade less than a second after it started its journey.
As Korenis died, Emmara felt divorced from herself at the sensation of taking a friend's life based on a gamble for survival. She asked Atagal to burn everything that Kore had touched and every spot of blood that he had shed while getting him into the guildhouse. Korenis has not reappeared yet. Emmara has descended into a despondent state and has disappeared. Atagal has also disappeared. Barike has discovered the scorch marks left by the cleaning, but has no answers to why his brother and the fenkis are missing.
