« on: November 01, 2009, 02:34:24 pm »
Salutations,
I'm an initiate whom has manifested in this foreign world recently possessing rudimentary skills in Crystal Way and Dark Way..
I seek enrollment under an institution of repute or apprenticed to a learned wizard.

The Masters of Move seem a great guild for you.

There are multiple Masters of Move. Like, plural. Like, the subject of the sentence is plural, so like, I totally gotta like, make subject-verb agreement. So like, stfu.

no, caira's right. "a great guild" denotes that "masters of move" is singular. it should be seems.

When one wins an argument, despite being wrong, it is rude for a third party to come in and point this out.

I agree with Roled that the Knowledge Seekers seem to be worth a look. This guild seems to have a good renown, even Jayose made a contract with them and trusts them to review new books for his library extension.

Ask them for their Prospectus of the Yliakum University, Vilthis, and allow them to convince you ... at least to a discussion for further details. Both a full time study (guild membership) and a part time study ("evening lessons" for a monthly fee) are provided.

I depends on what way you plan on learning..... Because, If you plan on specializing in red way, or dark way, you are always welcome among Tainted Silver.
(unless you want a guild that "technically" exists, which ours does not at this point (but you could make history forming a guild (look brackets inside brackets inside brackets!)))

Look, anyone can help you train magic skills. My advice to you is this:

1. Decide on what sort of character you would like to play.
- is your character good or evil ?
- is he a law follower or a law breaker
- is he loyal to his friends or a chaotic back stabber
- will he be religious or more of an athiest

Once you have this much figured out look for a good rolyplaying guild and try to get in with them.

There are a lot of fly by night guilds that are run by noobs. Stay away from these at all costs. Its the blind leading the blind. Not good.

Good luck and make sure you have fun.

If you want to try being an evil or dishonest character then let me know :)

I am most appreciative of the advice given here.

I found some persuasions to enroll into the Yliakum University compelling
[Though I find the superlative "Yliakum University" a little self assuming, it's like for "University of Planet Earth" for instance.]
[Why not the Hydlaa University/Academy/College for a more manageable jurisdiction and more representative of the region?]

Though my concern now lies in how magic is instructed in Yliakum University.
[How fast would progress be and the course materials related to the study?]

I have also found Rigwyn's comments on a more classic RP apprenticeship based training compelling.

I have not heard enough on Masters of Move to come to any conclusive decisions however.

[I'm not joining a guild, just seeking a place to RP magic studies]
