you might be a noob if you think your way to rp is the eternal truth and no one else is right

There is no thing such as the eternal truth. I have my opinion and you have yours. We aren't going to agree, so there's no need to discuss it.

you might be a noob also if you insist to use and be around something you dislike so much. Even more when you despise hours of free work put by various people.

If you ask me, it's you despising the work by misusing it to make another (failed) WoW clone, which is not what PS is announced as.
Besides, when I play it's to get in touch with the few people I like in PS, and even if the previous words make it obvious, yes, they aren't anywhere else but in PS so I don't get a chance if I wanted to choose.

You might be a noob if you don't learn to not spit where you eat.

What's wrong with some sauce?
But none of these have anything to do with being a noob. If you wanted to plain insult me you could just have called me moron and done. ;)
Not that it would have been news to me. XD

and yes... if you remove the game mechanics from a multiplayer game with a chatbox... you have irc.

Two maxed chars and my last main at lvl 82 Blue Way, that's how much I would like to remove the game mechanics. But I'm used to empty arguments when dealing with these forums, keep them coming if you please. Game mechanics should be made to support RP, not vice versa.

(btw it works great on computer which run recent games and with proper hardware)

Actually doesn't, Fallout 3 runs better here than PS. And crashes or invisible dynamic models don't have to do with performance.

i'll explain you

sorry, he is. Learn the setting and you actually qualify for the noob status for saying bs.

You make a poor job at explaining it then. I still don't get what you mean although it could be only because of my evidently low IQ. But I accept your apologies. ;)

I would reply to you, Earowo, but I don't have so much time to waste.
Keep flaming.

Ah, Lhaa, you return from the pits of hypocrisy to strike again.

If people are entitled to their own opinion, why do you make posts that isolate all opinions opposite to your own as "noob", implying inferiority, then you get pissy and take it personally when they respond?

PlaneShift does not announce itself as an RP-Nazi cesspit. You might be a noob if you think your kind of behaviour is acceptable.

People don't learn by being put down, they just harden against whatever was being imposed on them through the putdowns. It turns into a world/server-wide conflict, and all of a sudden, American dumbasses rule the world, and a whole list of ideals are suddenly old fashioned and out the window as "savage".

I do hope you have the intelligence to see the various references to RL in my post.

Of course PS doesn't annouce itself as a RP-nazi game....you didn't write the announcement.

Remember that PlaneShift is a Role Playing Game - be sure to read our Roleplay guidelines! We think the RPG part of the mmorpg definition has a meaning!

Rigwyn started this thread with the words: "With the server down and people getting antsy I think its a good time for a forum game. This is meant as light hearted fun so please don't anyone take offence". Seems some people doesn't understand what he wrote there.

This is something I can only agree with. One could wonder why I turned into such a sarcastic bastard...

* Rigwyn tosses some popcorn into his mouth and chews between laughing.

American dumbasses eh ?

I know your anger is directed at lhaa and not all citizens of the continent but some folks might take offense to that ;) ( personally, I don't take offense )

You might be a noob if you think that on a half full bladder you can beat lhaa in a pissing contest :)
* Rigwyn snaps his fingers. An omg-i-cant-see flash of light appears followed by a thick puff of black smoke. As the smoke dissipates, a tall, sweaty pitcher of lemonade and an array of clean drinking glasses appear.

Levrus... isn't bald...

So if he's not Levrus, then maybe his apprentice ... :o

It is Ratboy!

And today you can't see his baldness because he always wears his helm. ;)

Seriously if someone were to read these forums to check this game out I hardly think anyone would play with all the conflicts you people seem to have in game that pour over to these forums.

A game is supposed to be fun!! This seems like a waste of time to me.

@ Happy:

Fortunately, those are only few.

Unfortunately, they are the loudest.

Let's hope they will get mature some day.

You might be a noob if you post twenty or so lines saying everyone else's style of play might make them a noob.

Interesting to see what is going at PlaneShift (or better: what is not going) nowadays. The following I decided to quote although it is very long, but every single point cannot be mentioned often enough.
Quote from: Lhaa
You might be a noob if you mistake new players for noobs.
You might be a noob if you think knowing the game mechanics makes you less of one.
You might be a noob if you never typed /leave 1.
You might be a noob if you don't get why the Channels tab isn't the first one.
You might be a noob if you don't advise newbies that the Main tab is meant to be the main one.
You might be a noob if the first thing you teach a newbie is how to get a sword and kill a rat instead of about IC/OOC and basic roleplaying.
You might be a noob if you make 7 pages of posts about them/you.
You might be a noob if your character has no surname but you never used /me.
You might be a noob if your character is married but doesn't have a description.
You might be a noob if everything your char does goes into the forums since this makes it greater.
You might be a noob if you turn every thread into a kill-the-other game.
You might be a noob if you read these forums for over an hour and don't feel embarrassed.
You might be a noob if you thought guards are just kidding when they asked you to sheath your weapons.
You might be a noob if you make a newspaper to give an IC explanation to every OOC event that happened lately.
You might be a noob if you run all around Hydlaa on your fancy mount yelling Get out of my way.
You might be even more of a noob if you do that but don't yell at all.
You might be a noob if you make a party in Kada El's and talk only in guildchat.
You might be a noob if you recruit guild members as quick as possible so that nobody else will do that before you do.
You might be a noob if you think that is a way to support RP.
You might be a noob if you are not confused about people only sitting and eventually saying ty at the mine.
You might be a noob if you always jump down the railing in Kada El's and wonder why others don't respect your acrobatic skills.
You might be a noob if you make a new alt every day to avoid playing the consequences of your last 1-day main's actions.
You might be a noob if you always log the right alt in the right place at the right time.
You might be a noob if you greet people and don't wait enough for them to have time to write a reply.
You might be a noob if your Klyros character has a child from an Ylian.
You might be a noob if you think any of the dueling tournaments in the last years can be called an IC event.
You might be a noob if your idea of a fun event is some talking monsters and fancy item rewards.
You might be a noob if the sudden bleaching of one whole race's hair sounds like a good chance to RP rather than a bug to you.
You might be a noob if you think chars that don't match the player's gender are different than chars that don't match the player's race, you dwarf.
You might be a noob if you ever wondered why others don't react to your IC tells from BD.
You might be a noob if you call mining, crafting and mobbing non-talkative RP.
You might be a noob if you think everything typed after /me is legit RP.
You might be a noob if you played for over two years and have nothing to complain about.
You might be a noob if you agree an RP game needs a non-RP server.
You might be a noob if you think 1st person cam is the only way to truly RP.
You might be a noob if you call others not RPing with you godmodding. That's actually why they don't RP with you.
You might be a noob if you think GMs have the right to godmod while players... hm, what is godmodding?
You might be a noob if you place mobs all around the map so that RPers won't be bored.
You might be a noob if you think copying WoW is making a game based on Roleplaying.
You might be a noob if you call the players testers but make a spoilers policy.
You might be a noob if you make aquatic animals summonable mounts for the Dome's inhabitants.
You might be a noob if you think the same quest given 10 times every hour can be taken IC.
You might be a noob if you therefore intend players of an RP game to put time into such quests.
You might be a noob if you make settings public only for ones spending hours and hours of going through such quests.
You might be a noob if you tell people IC about the never seen yet Pterosaur.
You might be even more of a noob if you do this next to the NPC that sells tickets for the Pterosaur Arena.
You might be a noob if after the latest changes you still consider PS a RP game.

In fact I was a bit shocked when I checked PS out once again after a long while - if you want me to pick a single point of the ones above: Heck, Gossip-channel is default? My first impression having seen this (and its content) was "Wow, this provides everything but immersion!", and 'everything' includes a spectrum from pre-pubertal silly comparisons that let me doubt of the community's maturity, to arranging stuff OOCly which could have been subject for coherent RPs.

@Akkaido: Refering to very most of your posts around, did you ever get in touch with the settings? Being a one-eyed among blinds doesnt make that one seeing.

I left PS when its continuous decay took away my hope for any improvement at some point. I joined one RP-server of a kind of hated game (here, that is) and I can only recommend to introduce the same restriction to PS as that server has: Have future players apply for an account first and get a picture of those ones before having this "immersive world" owned by 'noobs'.
PlaneShift is definitely a promising game. Its technical standards might not be top notch, but sufficient for its demands. Considering the last years however, I would think that insisting on "players are nothing but testers" and "PS is nothing more than alpha or a tech-demo" would provide the responsible people with the freedom to invite everyone since people are required to test the game, but without at least a soft enforcement of the game's RP-aspect that same one will become noncredible with the result that players seriously looking for roleplaying games would rather turn away again while leveling- and dueling-focused players would stay.
Some restrictions to filter out roleplayers certainly could make some of those points above obsolete and have less noobs around.

at this just an honest opionion, opinion?, i've never played WoW but i've seen commercials for it, and it looks really really really nerdy and stupid, while PS to me, has been pretty damn fun, so i dont see what the complaining about is really...
