Server failed?

HI, I've recently downloaded the game and I know it's under developpment so it's normal for the bugs but... It often happens that the game simply crashes on me when I change region ingame, but also and most horrible of all. Since yesterday I can't seem to connect to the server. It says that it's failed and even after spending 3 hours hoping praying and waiting for it to not be failed... It stays failed... What's wrong?

P.s. I really love the game so please someone tell me how to solve that quickly so I can enjoy the game again. thanks.

Can you tell us a bit more about your system (operating system / graphic adapter etc.)? Else it's hard to help with the crash problem.

Okay thanks for the link, as for my operating system.... Other than it's windows XP familly edition... I don'T know much about it :S
I know how to make websites using notepad but when it comes down to computers themselvs, I'm as ignorant as it gets. Sorry, also english being my secondary language it's confusing with the therminology.

Hmmm.... well, maybe you can describe the problem more closely. For example
- If the game loads correctly... if not, at what point exactly does it fail (after loading the char I assume)?
- Does it crash on all map changes or only on some?

Apart from that is always a good try to disable vertex buffer object and preload models (and preload maps) in the planeshift setup application

well, there are two problems.
#1: When I open the client, it writes beside the name of the server "failed" after sometime it shows numbers and if I press join then I can log on properly.

#2: The crashing during map change happens seemingly randomly. I have only 3 places I go; magic shop, Hydlaa plaza and Hydlaa library. so to if it'S on all i'm not sure. it happens on each of them but seemingly randomly. as for the options they are all as they were when I downloaded the client, (disabled).

Oops! It's not join it's when I log on, when I input my email and password. there's on the right "server" and under there's "fragnetics          Failed" and it stays that way and sometimes it has crazy numbers like "Fragnetics          105032%" and some other times there is the number of people on the game which can change from 450 to 271 at once.

Earlier on today, During the afternoon here. I was successful at logging in and playing the game for a while but now I seem to have problem number 2 again.

That's not the number of players online, that's the ping.

Oh really? okay, sorry for not knowing. But still, It still doesn't let me log on unless there's some numbers written there and right now there is only "failed"

The server (or rather the company who runs the server) seems to have some problems.... that happened before and it might take a few days until it's solved. Best thing you can do is to join the planeshift irc channel [ http://www.planeshift.it/irc.html ] sometimes for latest rumors (and spam... )

Depressing? The word is weak, Planeshift is the best game I've ever played!! I hope it get's fixed soon. Thanks for the help everyone.
