I joined soon after stairs that let you travel through levels were discontinued... Do any of you actually remember those (replaced by the winch) stairs? 

Apparently, mostly criminals used them, said Roled, condescendingly.

Roled: Not only stairs with holes, but also stairs that caught your feet, made you stumble, fall over and break your neck ... means: Descending stairs already triggered the falling damage.
