because Kran breathe much more slowly than other races Lilura doesnt die as quickly as Rigwyn had hoped. Lilura pulls out a very large Claymore engraved with the words 'Voice of Talad' and stabs Rigwyn with it.  Why?  because lilura is a kran and forgot Rigwyn would die from the poisonous smoke
