A Journey for Carrots
« on: November 26, 2009, 04:06:14 am »
    <[][]3
Feonu is on a search for carrots, so that he can help make a special dish for a friend, but he has some trouble going out into the wilderness alone. He is accompanied by Mandrith, who is a friend of his. They depart from Ojaveda on their search for carrots, and scan both of the roads for any place to harvest the orange plants. No results on the roads to Hydlaa. Tired, there seems to be a convenient camp near Hydlaa, and they are both very tired. Feonu begs Mandrith to stop their, and Mandrith allows it, but has a bad feeling about the place. They make their way into the camp, and all the eyes of the rouges are on them. Mandrith tells Feonu not to talk to any of the rouges, and they are only their to rest for a moment, but when Mandrith sets his eyes off Feonu, Feonu begins to converate with one of the rouges. The rouge laughs about something, and Feonu laughs back, then accidentally steps on the rouges foot. The rouge snaps, and punches Feonu very very hard in the face. Crying like always, Feonu runs away, with somebody who cares after him.
                                                           <[][]3
He finds himself sitting under a tree just near Hydlaa, and he is holding his nose which is covered in blood. After moments of his silence, and crying, Mandrith helps heal his face up, and the continue their journey for carrots. Through Hydlaa they make their way through, leaving through the northeast gate. To Gugrontid they make their way, tired and hungry, stopping on the way their due to Feonu's many pains of hunger and thirst. Once they reach Gugrontid, they are dissapointed with a closed tavern, and the absence of any carrots. They leave, and make their way to a pond where they catch some fish, cook them, and eat them viciously out of hunger. They both decide not to give up their search for carrots. They make their way to the explorer's outpost.
                                                                                                   <[][]3
They are both saddened by the absence of any life in the outpost, and further saddened by absense of carrots. They find many troubles around the outpost, Feonu steps on something that bothers his foot, and causes it to itch, and he cant itch it due to a burn, Mandrith on the other hand is dealing with a rampaging ulbernaught that finds its way into one of the tents. Once they are both finished dealing with these dilemma's, they are approached by a fenki that calls them weird creatures. Why is this girl calling us creatures, has she never seen a Klyros before? they ask themselves. It is answered when it is apparent how the girl bumped her head and got amnesia. THey offer her to come look for carrots with them, and she follow them. Now they head to a merchant called Grok, and plan to ask the herbalogist if he has seen any carrots around. On the way, bad things happen.
                                                                                                                                                      <[][]3
The fenki girl, ends up straying away from the two, getting herself lost again out in the wild. Feonu rests a bit, and Mandrith goes ahead at a high spot on a rocky arch so that he can survey the area for any sign of the merchant Grok. When Feonu catches up to him, Mandrith is so excited that he falls off the high arch, breaking his leg upon impact with the ground. Feonu cries, and is afraid for what has happened. But he decides this as a moment for him to summon a bravery that has been absent all his life. He follows Mandrith's instructions of tying two swords on opposite sides of the leg. After the pain, Mandrith is helped to his feet by Feonu, and they stumble their way to Hydlaa. in Hydlaa, a healer notices the two dragging themselves in the direction of the Sanitorium. On the street, Mandrith's leg is completely healed by this great healer. After converation of thankfulness between the three, Feonu finds himself tired, and Mandrith buys him a stay in Kada-El's tavern. He sleeps, perhaps dreaming of carrots, or less accidents and trauma in his life. The search will continue when he awakes, but will they ever find the carrots? <[][]3

Apperently it is not carrot season, since the carrots were not there when we got there, and we were there for more than 30 minutes. So i think either poor lost Claira got hungry, or we are all colorblind  ::|, and cannot see orange.

*Feonu rubs his eyes and squints, trying to add orange in his color spectrum*

Sometimes you need your "sixth sense" [ /target next item ] to spot them because they are so thin. And knowing the exact place is useful too.

                      <[][]3
Feonu wakes up from his night of sleep in Kada-el's. He notices the absence of Mandrith, so he wanders his way to the downstairs of the tavern, quickly begging somebody for breakfast, and the results end well: Applesauce, Cider, fresh bread, and Terevan berries. Eating his breakfast as swiftly as he can, he leaves the trashy remains of it behind on a table, and runs his way out of the tavern.
                                          <[][]3
On the streets, Feonu looks around for Mandrith for about an hour with no results. He lets out a depressed sigh, and makes his way to the northeast gate. He looks out in the distance behind the door and asks himself "Am i safe outside this gate?" he looks out for a few more moments, and then derives an answer within himself "I am not afraid to be alone, i am safe with myself." He pridefully and courageously strides out of the gate, and into the forest alone.
                                                               <[][]3
In the forest, Feonu makes sure to keep his eyes open for the carrots, and he begins his sweeping search for carrots in the forest, scanning every inch of the ground. after hours of searching, he begins to get hungry, and he takes a half empty pouch of ifiron rice, and a pouch of warm water, and disdainfully eats his pathetic meal. He throws the trash into the forest, burying it, and continues his search with a stronger effort than before. Looking into the depths of the tree lines, he notices a figure. He wipes his eyes, and the figure is gone.
                                                                                        <[][]3
Feonu takes a deep breath before continuing his scan on the ground, and his heart suddenly begins to beat at a faster pace. The light from the tree lines suddenly dissipates, and there is nothing but darkness left in the forest. Behind him, he hears an eerie laugh, and nothing but this sparks in Feonu's head: "RUN FEONU RUN!" And that is exactly what Feonu does. Behind his quick pace, very close he can hear the pitter patter and crushing of leaves behind him. He increases his footpace, and in doing this he trips up on a fallen branch, and falls to the ground. He begins to shiver, and nothing is heard but the eerie laugh once again.
                                                                                                                            <[][]3

Previous to when Feonu was chased through the forest by the mysterious person with the eerie laugh, The masked figure schemes in Hydlaa, when he watches Feonu exit through the northeast gate alone. He comes up with an idea of kidnapping Feonu, so he writes a letter addressed to Mandrith so that he can lure him out, and he folds the letter, and entrusts a street urchin to deliver the letter to Mandrith. She does so, handing it to Mandrith who stands in front of the tavern. The urchin finds her way into the streets, and Mandrith unfolds the letter and reads it:
                   <[][]3
     Mandrith,

I have the filthy Feonu in my possession, so come to cutthroat's pass.
I will have the boy there, and do not come with any weapons, any
armor, or your precious claymore. The boy's life depends on whether
or not you bring these things.
                                                                             Stranger.
                                    <[][]3
Mandrith reads the letter, and does what he is told, making his way towards the pass. Meanwhile, Feonu is sedated by the masked stranger when the stranger finds Feonu innocently looking for carrots in the dark forest by himself. He snatches the boy, and quickly sedates him. Feonu squeals for a second, and then rests himself on the ground unconscious. The masked stranger picks up Feonu's limping and heavy body and hangs the boy over his shoulder, struggling under his weight.
                                                    <[][]3
The stranger struggles under Feonu's weight as he carries him out of the forest. He drops the boy as a beam of light hits through the strangers mask, as if the dimness azure light could actually come to a shock to somebody's eyes. He picks up the boy again, as the boy seems to become even heavier to him. Over the hill the masked stranger struggles, constantly dropping the boy's body, then picking it back up. Hill after hill, the stranger finally finds himself at the top of cutthroats pass, looking directly into the azure crystal finding it as dim as it can be, causing darkness. All that emanates light out of the darkness is the eyes of Mandrith, which glare at The stranger carrying Feonu.
                                                                       <[][]3
The stranger drops Feonu on the ground and laughs at Mandrith as he points a sabre at Feonu's neck, and at this moment, Feonu becomes conscious again. Feonu blurts out desperately to Mandrith "R..r..run." The stranger kicks Feonu on the side, and Feonu falls to the ground, looking up at Mandrith. The stranger tells Mandrith to drop to the ground, on his knees, and Mandrith does so. "Don't hurt the boy." Mandrith exerts. The masked stranger laughs, and looks down at Feonu "Why does this filthy little urchin mean something to you?" asks the stranger. Mandrith looks over at Feonu "He...hes like a brother to me." responds Mandrith.
                                                                                       <[][]3
Feonu looks up at Mandrith, enthralled that somebody actually cares about him,and then a sabre pokes into his neck, piercing it a bit, as Feonu cringes for a second. "And what does Mandrith mean to you little urchin?" asks the stranger. Trusting everything with Mandrith, thinking of everything, he responds with "E...E...Everything." The masked stranger laughs, and slips his sabre a moment away from Feonu's neck for a second, pointing it at Mandrith for a second "This is such a sentimental moment, how about you both die in it." The stranger takes his sabre, and as he slits Feonu's throat with it, Feonu grabs his hand and throws him down the hill with the last living strength he has. Feonu dies.
                                                                                                           <[][]3
Mandrith suddently turns around enraged as he finds his friends neck spewing blood, takes his dagger out, and chases the stranger down the hill. They battle it out, as Mandrith knocks the sabre out of the stranger's hand for a moment, then cuts his ring finger off as the stranger tries to grab for this dagger, screaming "Ill kill you filthy trepor!" The stranger tries picking up his sabre, and gets his mask knocked off. Mandrith verifies who it is: Kull."Kull" mutters Mandrith. These are Mandrith's last words, for he is sliced in the stomach with Kull's sabre.
                                                                                                                             <[][]3
In the Death Realm, mandrith finds Feonu, who is in complete shock, and talks to him. Feonu mentions how he had seen the ghosts of both his parents, and begins to cry. Mandrith comforts him, and gives him a talk, and after cheering him up a bit, driving Feonu to want to live again, Mandrith guides Feonu out of the death realm, and back into the real world. Feonu sits on the streets of Hydlaa, thinking to himself: "Screw carrots."

*Feonu sells the severed finger to somebody for 4 tria, and some cider.
