0.5 start-up problem

Well, downloaded the new client, sent it through bittorent, opened up the .dmg file, moved the ps folder into my application folder, opened it up, and tried starting it. All it does it give me the "psclient quit unexpectedly" message. And now I can't use my old client, since it tells me I need to update my client. So, ran the updater, no updates needed. Tried removing my old client and its corresponding folder form application support and reinstalling the new one, didn't work. Help would be greatly appreciated. I am Also having the same issue i am curently re-down loading the client ....i tryed un-ziping the art folder but in my old client folder (I saved in a different folder )  they were still zipped, so likely not going to help.
    An other post said this with there problem  "I figured it out. I needed the default skin on the folder"   i don't know what this means though.

I am running on mac OS X   10.5.8
2 Ghz intel core 2 duo
2 GB 1067 MHz DDr3

You have to run the launch program to get the updates you need to be able to run the client on Laanx.

well i have still been having trouble... surprise :)
 I try to launch the pslaunch and it "quits unexpectedly", it only flashes on my dock bar the i get the error report.  The same thing happens with ps client , also the icons on these files are just a generic icon and not like the old client, 
I re downloaded the new Client and same thing.

Same issue. :(
This morning I did the various README fixes, didn't work.
Followed by the fix that Xillix offered in the other thread to get into V5 on Epz.
With the result that... instead of crashing right away, PSlaunch and PSclient crash after 2 seconds.
Although a small improvement, maybe I should change the .cfg files directly instead of the ones under application support? *wonders*

Ench, we are having the exact same problem. But I have good news:

Xordan said in another thread that "The Mac OSX download was bugged I'm afraid, we're publishing a fixed one asap."

So hopefully that should take care of it

Does anyone know a timeline for getting that bug fixed? Odd, this is the first time I've ever wished I was using a PC...

Please put your OS X version whenever you get a crash. This will help us get the fix out much faster.

I have instant crashes right now, but when the epz version got a fix for mac to test, it seemed to work just fine.
When I tried to do the same epz install a second time however it would crash as well. Just like this version.  ???

Same here-ish

Client worked during Ezp testing but now it kept quitting and failing. :(

Yep, same problem here, it won't let me actually run the game, despite running the updater several times, and re-installing the client..
Guess us Mac users are just gonna have to sit this one out until they can fix the bug...  :@#\

Same here: I re-downloaded ps, ran pslaunch and it works now (kinda) [osx 10.6]

yeah, i have that problem too (can't run the download..  it only runs on textedit)
does anyone know when the fix is supposed to be here?

I can't reproduce the crashes here so you'll need to post error messages from the crash dialog that Mac OS X shows. Thanks.
