I am completely new to MMORPGs. PlaneShift is my first, though I have played NWN2 Online, briefly - my machine was just too slow. I haven't even downloaded the PS (client?) program yet (I've never used torrent before, but I am installing and learning it to respect PS's wishes).
I always research and read everything I can before I commit to a project. I have spent three days looking for a MMO to try. I was about to give up before I ran across PlaneShift. This MMO seems to be the kind of project I can commit to; rather than a way to make money, the people here really seem genuinely intent on providing a good gaming experience.
I have spent the last four hours reading everything I can about PS, most of that time spent in the forum. One thing I've noticed is a multitude of post where new members introduce themselves.
My suggestion is this; create an Introduction topic on the main page for the sole purpose of new member introductions. I have seen this in the NWN2 forum I was briefly in and it helped organize it greatly and made other topics much easier to find.
I will wait to introduce myself to the main population in case you decided to implement this suggestion.
