Some Thoughts About Shortcuts
« on: January 17, 2010, 10:04:05 pm »
Options->Controls-> Keys has some problems, an assortment of bugs and omissions.
Buy is listed twice under game control as well as under shortcuts. only the shortcut listing is set.
Quest window has no shortcut.
Bag and Inventory are listed adjacent and it is unclear to me whether they are different.

Most of the standard set of shortcuts are relatively useless as the represent action more easily used by the context menu unless you are using a one button mouse.

Hmm game crashed, I'll have to continue later. Any thoughts?

bag is the smallinventory, so that does differ.
you may make a shortcut for your questwindow if you wish and then assign a key, just check the /show in the help window for explanation how to make shortcuts for windows.
the standard shortcuts are supposed to work for all supported operating systems, therefore they have to work on a single button mouse as well - additionally some people prefer to use shortcut keys instead of the context menu, e.g. me ;)

though having buy listed twice indeed does not seem to make sense - feel free to file a bug in the bugtracker about it.

I'll do that (eventually) barring discovery of its previous existence.

I just found it odd that most of the windows that have buttons on the menu have hotkeys by default but not that one. I suppose guild and group do not either.

I haven't gone back into the game yet to see if there is more that strikes my eye.
