Mostly a question to any devs...
« on: May 11, 2003, 02:11:12 am »
I\'m pretty sure i speak for almost every player when i say that we think the weapon prices are unbelievably expensive. I was wondering if there was any way to start my own weapon shop page connected to the PS database, which would then allow me to lower prices on weapons...well, please help out, if you need to email me, my email address is bushie@graal.net

While I\'m inclined to agree (btw I\'m not a dev), I think this all just reeks of one big monopoly! Anti-trust lawsuits are in order!  :P

On a more serious note, perhaps the devs may want to consider having a reasonable price for at least one item while the rest of the more exotic ones could be jacked sky-high so they\'re only reserved for the very most active of the Planeshift lot??

The current prices remind me of handphone prices 1 decade back.

Let me get this straight - you want to have your own weapon shop that is stocked for you and then sell them at bargin prices instead? Good luck, I\'m sure the devs will give this a lot of thought ;)

Can I have one of those shop full of weapons too?

The prices are set so high to preserve the rarity and exclusivity of the items and weapons, by hardwork, determination and teamwork some guilds are managing to start to get themselves a nice little collection - so it can be done.

for now you can\'t earn money within the game, so the weapons prices are still expensives, but later you\'ll get emeralds just kicking monster\'s butt and so you will be able to buy some.

Hopefully we won\'t have to \"kicking monster\'s butt\" to earn money. I\'m sick of animals carrying valuable gems, money, weapons etc. X(
It would be better if animals carried things like \"bugs wings\", \"Hard shell\" etc.
Those things could then be sold to players who creates shields (you could use the \"hard shell\" to manufacture shields), alcemists (\"bugs wings\" could be an ingredient) and so on.
I don\'t know what you think, but I think that bugs carrying gold is just stupid.

BTW. There is some earlier threads about this.

BTW 2. What is the point in buying useless swords and shields anyway?

ok, you\'ll find monstrers skin, teeth, hairs, stomach and others nice parts, and you\'ll sell it to the village butcher\'s. and you\'ll get money.
and some *big* animals may have eaten guys who were full of money ?

But to find the money you will need to have skills in anatomy and spend about 5 minutes looking through the innards of the monster.

That was a joke?for all of you people who are low slearners. (while I often misspell this is not one of those times)

On a more serious note, this is an issue I have often brought up. In the end it will be up to the settings team.

Not at all Kada! I\'m not nearly that stupid! I\'m talking about making a shop like so, only like you said, rare=$$$, common=$. IE-a beer mug wouldn\'t cost 500 ruby crystals, but more like 5 (or so, depending on how much they\'d cost in an in-game shop). However, a Claymore would cost around 6000 ruby crystals (again, depending). So there would be a percentage of price i would remove that gets to be a smaller and smaller % as the rarity goes up. This way, i wouldn\'t be selling everything for ch33p, but i wouldn\'t match prices with the current monopoly...imean shop...

It would be cool if people could open up their shop online, so if you were offline, and really wanted to buy that whachamathing you\'d be able to buy it, and hold onto if if allowed. Or if you payed extra, it could be sent to the nearest post office, or directly to you. Potions to go  :P

the nice part is that anybody can open his shop, using standard prices, but his own desing.
everybody use standard pages to say ps server that a sell has benn made so the prices are fixed by the server.

In the Alpha it wouldn\'t really matter, cuz they said themselves, \"The items don\'t really mean much now.\" Or so I think they said that. I wouldn\'t really worry till the games come out unless your a Dev. Then its up to the Devs to find out how to solve this. That\'s so cool of them to solve things, do we just love em? :)

What i was talking about earlier was for the short-term! I just wanted to open a shop with lower prices so that people wouldnt have to spend truly REDICULOUS amouts of money for...say, a mug!

But the demo will only be out for a short time (if you have patience). I dont really care about prices if the characters are only gonna get wiped again. Might as well stock up, then get some cool items for a while. Then you\'d truely be the only one with it, it would be a sign of power. While the other way, people would be goin around with swords.
