Crash ( due to corrupted system file?)
« on: March 13, 2010, 03:27:27 pm »
Didn't know where to post it, so I posted it here.
Since wednesday, I crash each time I try to play a game. Planeshift included.
I always get the same error, which also pops up at my computer start-up.

It says: "C:\Windows\system32\DSOUND.dll isn't build to work on Windows or contains an error."

It's completely killing my computer.
I am using Windows Vista 32bit. (I don't think my other infos would help so I didn't post them.)
Itunes don't work either.

virus? hd wrekage? i'd suggest an immediate backup of all your data, a check with smart and with scandisk and with a virus scanner. also check what you've installed recently

Actually I'm thinking of installing Windows 7. Should repair everything after the backups are done.
