planeshift installer won't execute

I down loaded plane shift version 5.2.1 32 bit windows via bit torrent from the website.
I installed it, ran into a problem with pslaunch.exe and then tried to uninstall to reinstall it but it wouldn't uninstall.
The unisntall .exe wouldn't execute.
So i deleted everything i could find to do with plane shift including application data.
I tried to install it the second time but when i click on PlaneShift-v0.5.2.1 nothing happens.
I looked at processes in task manager when i clicked on it and it tries to run for like 2 seconds but then disappears. There is no error message.
I have since tried downloading it again both via bit torrent and direct download. I got the same problem.

Can someone please help.

Are there any error messages?
Can you pease try to run the applications in the concole and post what it says?

there are no error messages and i ran it in the console and nothing happens, the computer fan just runs faster for a few seconds.

I've tried everything I know of which probably isn't very much but every time i try to run plane shift the same thing happens it's like the computer thinks it has successfully executed the file.

I just tried md5sum and i got the right result.

This may sound daft but worked for a different problem with new client [constant crash on loading world]. Make sure everything PS related has been deleted, apart from your download. Turn off your pc, make cup of tea or go to pub. Fire up your pc, try to install. If you get first part running then update when prompted. After the updater has finished turn pc off again, tea or pub, put shader and textures to medium, untick vbo [esp if running ATI card] in Graphics, then cross fingers and go for it. Good luck, it's worth it.

I think i Know what went wrong.
when plane shift wouldn't uninstall i deleted everything i could find and then went in to the regedit and deleted the atomic blue folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/atomic blue or HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/atomic blue. I can't remember which and have no idea about the registry. i didn't back up before i changed. I know this is probably  a stupid mistake. If this could be the problem how do mi fix it if at all.

one thing that got me was that you need to choose a skin before trying to start the game, I updated/repaired and almost reinstalled before i found that simple fix

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/atomic blue

The "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/" hive can only be written to by local administrators and power users.  a normal local user account cannot modify this hive ( unless privs are elevated ) .
I have to wonder how this "atomic blue" key got created if ps does not write to the reg ?

On my Windows Vista machine
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Atomic Blue\PlaneShift
contains the following keys :-

(Name)          (Data)

Location         C:\Program Files\PlaneShift
Version          0.5.0

However they don't seem to be used for anything.

Aha .. well, something is doing that .. Whether or not its important is another story.
Its pretty easy to figure out if its important or not.

I've deleted absolutely every plane shift related file i could find and now I'm going to download it again and see what happens.

It now comes up asking me if i want to run the program.
If i click run the same thing happens as before.
I tried running it in command prompt and still nothing happened.l
