Earowo, the wolf spider is huge, and scary when they crawl across your foot. I was bitten by one once when I was a child. It just itches and burns for a few hours, nothing serious. Yes, they are venomous, but not close to as venomous as the black widow, hobo spider, or brown recluse spider. I've seen wolf spiders so often because the only exterminators we have are 2 fat lazy cats that hardly ever do their job. One time my cat did eat a wolf spider alive and it didn't get sick at all.
If you live in washington state, then you have to watch out for those hobo spiders. This is what they look like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTs0IgRNpaUI myself have had countless encounters with spiders that have most of the time caused me to scream, especially with orb-weavers. Was walking through the woods one time and ran into its web. Crawled on my face for a moment before I screamed and knocked it off.
Thank you,
Geoni the spider lover/hater.
