Sadly this exciting monthly event was slightly marred by the banning of Perlan for cowardly behaviour by the organisers  He was also given an official warning by a GM. :ban:

This is not meant to offend anyone, but I simply could not resist spending ten minutes to contribute a little comic strip.

It proves once again that axes are superior to magic in battles like these.  \\o//

I would not say that the outcome of those games proof anything, as to few people participated and there is still much room for tactical and technical improvements, but it showed that my previous concern was not justified and game balance has been okay in this case.

I suspect that the enjoyability of these games will greatly suffer from the current imbalance between physical and magical attacks.

...  a good opportunity ... to observe things turn out unexpectedly.

My personal conclusion is that the tactical aspect will be much more important. The best way to dominate your opponents will be to focus your attacks such that there remains no time for healing, which requires a lot more of team play with the new rules. Still, I think close combat will be disadvantageous then, but I will stubbornly stick to it.

I agree with you Boni.  But there was so much concern over magic and area spells before this Cup ever got started, that I think it is interesting that on at least two out of the three Cups so far, they have been won with Asiek using axes.  I agree that tactics and skill are important in this Cup and not just brute force in either weapons or magic, and it will indeed be interesting to see how the Cup and its warriors evolve.  By the way Boni how did you die?  Did Asiek kill you..........?

Anyone can have tons of potions.  Potions alone don't make you a winner.  And who is counting the number of potions other warriors carried?  Don't tell me Maisent you are too poor to buy potions.  Besides, I thought you were bringing food with you.  Didn't you cook enough.....?

. No.... Part of the fun is not knowing who you will be up against, There is a 15 minute warm up period before the event starts when tactics may be finalised in the light of unexpected entrants.
